No ILB, No OT, bunch of special teamers... C- Draft
It's getting very old. Dom needs to step up and do something about it . People ask where all the good posters went. They got tired of reading the same shit bagging on the broncos from the same 4 people over and over and over. This board is quickly going into the trash can.
I liked our draft. Every year there is a position we've been basically ignoring for awhile that we do not address. I'm looking at ILB and safety, depth at OT and G. But overall I liked what we got. Colin Cowherd named us the team that was the best in off season, free agency, and the draft.
I’d give it a B. Some strange choices but I understand them. This is the kind of draft contending teams have a lot of the time, your board is a little smaller and you go after your guys. I love the focus on elite athleticism with Day 3 picks.
How did we miss on pass defenders. According to you we shouldn’t even draft cornerbacks
Yeah even trying to draft a CB after the mid 2nd round is a miss automatically. Can get similar CBs as undrafted free agents. Sorry I've just seen these wasted CB draft picks happen for what seems like decades, it never works out. What is the old saying 'insanity is when you keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome'. Hit rate is higher on other positions. Just get CBs in the top 50 draft picks, from UDFA signings, or in free agency (or trades) I say.
I gave it a A...simply because I could see us getting 2-3 starters in this draft after not having a 1 or 2. I do think that on that back half the 5's through 7's there were some better players we could have gotten, but took some odd picks. I think I would have used the last 5 on the SD State Punter. Our punter sucks and we're paying him. For that point of the draft that would have been a big plus. I also think the ND State Tackle in the 5th would have been a good pick.
Wolf was constantly harping on the 2015 team talking about how bad they were. We all know how his analysis worked out….
I forgot about this. There was a small, but very annoyingly loud set of fans that year who were raging at the team. I remember them weirdly melting down after each playoff win, predicting that in the next game we'll really be exposed. Then we won the whole thing and they ate no crow and you could tell they still thought they were still right deep down.
Honestly that's America anymore. "I don't have to be wrong. It's my right to reject reality so I can be right all the time."
To be fair, there were many of us who were frustrated with that offense, believing that we would end up wasting an elite superbowl caliber defense. We just underestimated how good that defense was.
Hey man, we all know you won’t be here to take your lumps when things turn out differently than you say. You are mentally weak, and don’t really add much to the discussion.
that’s your opinion. Plenty of pro bowl corners have been taken after round 2
not by the broncos. I'm just giving my opinion, the two CBs picked are going to struggle to make the team. One may make it only because he was picked so high. Cheap vet minimum FA CBs are much better than these guys will be for years. I'm more excited about the UDFA CBs the broncos might get than the two they drafted.
It wasn’t bad considering they didn’t pick until one pick before the 3rd round.
these aren’t plug and play players. They don’t really need to be for their rookie years anyway. 2022 and 2023 need to rely on FAs heavily. If this team is looking for 3rd round and beyond to fill impact starting positions then they have bigger problems. But they aren’t doing that.
Wilson will make every player on the offense better.
the biggest concern will be injuries. This isn’t built like Titans who absorbed over half their team on IR.
Wow.. a C- from Wolf? For some reason he must be feeling extra chartable today for some reason! =)
I knew Shane would give us an F- before the first pick, so no surprise there. He used to be a slightly more clever troll, but now he is boring and obvious.. the worst kind.

That's a good point. A C from wolf is like an A-. And Shane isn't worth the time. Butt hurt Lock fan. We even drafted a player he took in the mock draft and we still got an F. Troll.

I would give it a B or rate it very good. Simply because Paton made it his mission to provide depth for D and fix the special teams woes.
“Paton said, “As you all know, we weren’t very good last year. That falls on us on the personnel side. We need better special teamers. We need guys that can not only play defense or offense — if they’re not starting, they need to play special teams. We look for those traits primarily in the third day.”
Assistant GM Darren Mougey added that the team “[would] love to add a dynamic returner.” The Broncos have nine picks heading into Thursday’s draft. They have five picks in the first four rounds despite not having a first-round pick.”
So of course Paton was going to use this draft to fix the worst ST unit in the league. Consider this:
