    Will China Invade Taiwan Next?

    It would likely be the most difficult military campaign in the history of warfare - which doesn’t mean China won’t try.

    China’s window of opportunity will only be open until the end of this decade.

    If China does invade, then the U.S. will most certainly come to Taiwan’s defense, and it would be a conflict we wouldn’t be able to afford to lose. The stakes would be almost unimaginably high, for the reasons explained in the video.

      If Russia invading Ukraine doesn't end in the annihilation of civilization, China invading Taiwan certainly would.

                      OP, I don't think it happens. The writing is on the wall, pull crap like this and the world turns on you. China has so much more to lose then Russia and so many more to keep.....content? compliant? whatever. A billion people were pulled out of poverty over the past 20 years, they are not going back easily. Is Xi really that removed from reality like Putin? Hopefully seeing his boy get worked by Ukraine opens his eyes a little.

                            I only think China does this if they become full fledged allies with Russia.

                            I think if/when this happens, America probably won’t directly get involved. If America does, it’ll likely suffer some humiliating early defeats when carriers get sunk by the Russian Hypersonic missiles. Then, do we escalate or take the L?

                            Taking the L would be a terrible humiliation for America. Probably lead to a depression, though we’re headed there anyway. This will just, speed it up. Yeah, tough times.

                            But if we escalate, the story of the human race probably ends.

                            Nukes complicate everything, and add a lot of different scenarios.

                            But one things for sure. No matter what happens, there will be some Democrat out there blaming orange man for all of this and a Republican somewhere saying this is what’s gonna wake the people up and ensure our win in 2024.

                                  Not much reason to get carriers in the way. As we're seeing play out in Ukraine, western ordinance is considerably more reliable than anything Russia seems capable of fielding. State Media press releases notwithstanding.

                                  And China's the one that's got to float a transport armada across the channel. So they're the ones that have the most to lose, by far, from missile strikes.

                                    I think the CCP will do what Putin did, attack during a training exercise without letting their military know its going to happen. This will be for the same reason Putin did it, respect for the intelligence gathering abilities of the West. Just like with the Ukraine war, this will create an opportunity to deal a severe blow to the CCP as their dazed commanders/troops learn that the invasion is really happening at the last minute. Taiwan should be ready and plan to exploit this weakness in the transient stages of the attack. I also think the CCP will have a lot more spies and special forces groups acting inside Taiwan when the invasion starts compared to what Putin had.

                                      It will be much easier for China to draw a line around Taiwan to make supply/reinforcement impossible (short of full US/Japan vs China engagement)

                                      Our only choice is to make an initial invasion of Taiwan so expensive as to be unthinkable.

                                          Right now, China is in deep trouble. The Covid lock-downs are creating societal melt-down. There are massive food shortages. Reportedly, animals are dying in the fields. The sugar shortage is causing real anger (the Chinese love their sugar). Chairman Xi's power base is eroding and elections are coming up. He is trying to engineer the whole emperor-for-life deal while his popularity plummets. If he tried to attack Taiwan now, I imagine the country would turn on him.

                                                I don't know about Putin and Xi, but we will be flushing a lot of democrats down the toilet come November! Then it will be time to impeach Biden.
