Trading any of the top 4 CBs would be a mistake. The position was ravaged by injuries last season, there are coaches' jobs on the line and the front office spent the offseason turning the secondary into a strength, so I don't see why undo it now. It's not a secret that, with the current QB situation, the team will need all the help they can get on defense. If it's Ojemudia, then it's more understandable.

It's Bryce Callahan. They like Oje as long term starter (plus he is hurt).
According to Sportrec
Post 6/1 trade
2021 Dead Cap: $1,333,334 2022 Dead Cap: $0 2021 Cap Savings: $7,176,470
If they are trading to save money then this ain’t a win now mode. CB was a massive crutch last year and it will be again due to injuries that will come. Trading the depth away for what? Money relief and a draft pick that won’t help on the field this year? Oje already hurt…
Considering our choice for QB, and what appears will be a “safe” offense, the Defense is going to our best chances of winning…. You can never have enough solid corner backs, and something tells me that unit is going to see ALOT of work this season… I’d rather see a receiver get dealt before a corner back.
Vic is a proven defensive mind, so I trust his assessment, but I’d hate to be light in the backfield…
Corners are one of those positions that get injured quickly and as soon as you lose a couple, QB's like Mahommes destroy you. I say keep them for special teams/depth unless the offer is excellent.
I don't think it happens. It seems so short sight to say we have enough corners or wrs. You never have enough by week 10.
I might trade Sutton or Patrick if someone would part with a high pick. I really think they should consider a Sutton deal if they can lock up Patrick on a team friendly deal. Rather spend the money on other positons than wr.
I can find logic for a couple trades, but just feel that nagging thought that we'll probably lose a corner to injury as the season develops.
It really makes most sense to play Surtain II in the slot this year. He seems to have the size and skills to cover TE's, and help in the run game. That would make Callahan the odd guy out "salary-wise." It doesn't make sense to trade available corners with friendly salaries, so it seems one of the vets would be the target unless we are doing a player swap in a position of need.
With as much as Fangio goes nickel and dime, I’m surprised there is rumors about this. Oje has holes in his game. If this team is going anywhere in the playoffs the secondary is what’s taking them there.

Paton said he was " Open for business " I don't get it but he has done a few things that I don't understand. Overall I really like the guy but he seems to do some strange shit.

What has he done that you consider strange? Other than pass on fields which I disagree with
George Paton didn't trade Phillip Lindsay. The Broncos rescinded their right of first refusal tender and allowed him to sign wherever he wanted after he made it clear he didn't want to be here.
