  • Recordgate (aka Harbaugh going for the consecutive 100-yard game rushing record).

First, this was a record I’m not sure I knew existed prior to yesterday. So, who really cares?

Second, it was slightly lame to get it the way the Ravens did yesterday.

Third, it’s not great optics for Fangio to whine about it. I liked how Shanny dealt with things like this. He’d file it away in his memory, and he’d extract revenge every time he had the opportunity - for eternity.

Fangio discussing it today is embarrassing.

I have zero problem with it. Our performance on offense was embarassing…

Your effort was embarrassing! All those Game Day thread posts of yours lacked enthusiasm. A little bit more pep and effort would have made all the difference in the world. You really let the whole team down. Yesterday's loss is officially your fault!

I’m with you Dom. I sure miss Shanny. Fangio airing out the dirty laundry after a bad loss is not a good look.

I was very low effort yesterday…many people have said my personal energy was incredibly low…. Sad!

I don’t care that they did it to us personally but it is a weak ass way to extend a record nobody should care about. Fangio needs to STFU though.

It’s was less about the record, and more about solidifying the players around a nice achievement…

It was a bitch move, but certainly not one worth crying about.

Imagine if Lamar got hurt. Totally different story. Harbaugh would look like a huge ****** for some arbitrary stat.

I mostly agree. But it's really poor form for Fangio to complain about it.

When the Broncos started winning Super Bowls, there were all of a sudden cameras and microphones on our sidelines. Remember all the times Kubiak would mention to Shanahan, either through his headset or in person, something along the lines of, "Hey, TD need 4 yards here for 200;" or, "John needs 27 yards to hit 4,000?" It happens.

I hate that the head coach, especially an old school, defensive-minded head coach, is making the team look soft and whiny. There was no trickery. If anything, it was risky for the Ravens as Lamar could have been tackled. Fangio should have focused on the really dirty stuff like the headshot on Teddy. And the Broncos should have retaliated on the field - as within the rules as possible - by really going after their QB instead of using both edge rushers as spectators.

My take is this -- you don't want them to go for the record? Then you bloomin' stop them. Send a blitz and knock 'em on their behinds. You can't whine about them doing that after you allowed them to. It happened. Move on to the next game.

One thing I will add on this - Harbaugh is a putz. Fangio should have kept his mouth shut. But it's a cheap, classless thing for Harbaugh to do. Remember a few years ago, when Greg Schiano's teams would go all out when the other team was taking a knee? He rightfully got blasted for that. Well, you can't have it both ways. If Baltimore decides to score on that play, would that have been okay? "We just needed four points for the record. So we had Lamar go all out." That wouldn't have played well. It's no different than this.

There's a gentleman's agreement that you don't do that crap. Harbaugh acting incredulous about the whole thing is silly. He knows why it's wrong. If something like that was done in baseball, someone would be getting a fastball in the middle of their back next game. The Harbaughs suck.

But Fangio should have kept his mouth shut. He sounds like a loser.

This was my thought exactly. Fangio was an embarrassment bitchin about it. Also put a little more effort into your own damn team.....and B-Large.

Yeah, I don't get the outrage over this. I remember during the 1998 season the O line was all but dragging TD to 2000 yards in the game against Seattle, even though we already had it well in hand and it was a stupid risk as TD had some minor rib bruising already that could have been aggravated, thus sidelining him for the post-season. Sometimes records matter to players, particularly linemen that often are overlooked for these accolades. Nothing wrong with a coach trying to let his players hit these milestones.

Outrage is one thing. Like I said, it's embarrassing for our coach to be the one who brings it up. But it's disingenuous for Harbaugh to act perplexed about the whole thing. And the game is not over down by 16 with the ball in the red zone.

I'm so tired of crapping the bed when we play the Ravens. It's happened a bunch of times, over the years.

vic is only communicating what the feelings of several players like shelby Harris Purcell and Kollar were after the game.

redirect your “pussy “ responses to the players in the trenches

Fangio is an idiot. He couldn't figure out after 60+ plays that the Ravens game plan was not to have Lamar run the ball. I bet in his mind he though his defensive scheme and game plan was doing a great job of keeping him contained and not letting him escape the pocket. Must have missed the report that he was injured and couldn't take the beating this week. Nice soft game plan to make Lamar look great. Fangio has to go. He is one of the 5 or 6 worst Head Coaches in the NFL.

It’s kind of like whining about officiating… out execute your opponent and stripes become irrelevant.

kudos to the Ravens for consistently being a contender… wish we had that.

                                          Fangio looks like a pussy.

how about actually showing up to play the game? You act like a 3-0 team yet can’t even pass the 50 ****ing yard line.

You try to put up a garbage time TD and cry when the other team not only stops it embarrassingly, but drops an exclamation point on you after.

outcoached. So let’s divert that attention onto the Ravens.

after the way Fangio whined to the league all week prior to the game im not surprised Ravens did it.

I have ZERO problems with what they did on that final play. Any coach that cares about his players would do the exact same thing.

Had no problem with it. I don’t see what’s so different than going for a garbage time TD. Overall that’s how this team has been since SB50. Embarrassing.
