    1. Brian Daboll

Perhaps the best head-coach hire the Chicago Bears could make would be Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

The Bills have had transformation success under Daboll’s leadership. Quarterback Josh Allen went from embarrassing to elite in just a few seasons, in what was one of the most impressive developments in the league’s history. That type of dedication to creating a top tier quarterback is exactly what Fields and the Bears need to succeed.

Thanks to Daboll, the Bills have one of the most high powered offenses in the league. Buffalo is tied with Kansas City for second most average points per game this season at 33.5. Allen and company racked up 40 points in Week 4 against the Texans following a 43-point Week 3 performance. If the Bears want someone who knows how to put points on the board, Daboll has to be their guy.

Again, Fields still doesn’t compare to Allen and Darnell Mooney is not Stefon Diggs, so Daboll would certainly have his work cut out for him. But when it comes time, the challenge of a developing a new quarterback protege in a division that will likely be without a contending team if Rodgers has moved on from Green Bay might prove to be just the temptation Daboll needs to make the move to Chicago.

Tom Cable would be a good hire.

I would prefer a thread like this would not show up until later in the season if it’s obvious that Fangio may not make it. That said, Brian Daboll would be great. But he will go to either a team that has a guy already that he thinks fits his system, OR to a team that is in position to draft one. Not sure we will be either.

I’m with you in all those takes.

My hope is TBW & our defense have an incredible season. Next week will determine a lot. Patton should be working plan B just in case. I also agree our QB situation is far less then ideal.

This is looking like more the reality. We saw 6-0 before. Didn’t turn out well. This team has holes and cannot absorb any type of injury. Half the ravens go down and they still ball out. Coaching(esp OC) aren’t good enough to make up for it.

I mean do they give Fangio another season if they don’t make the playoffs? What if it’s 8 wins? That’s a losing season now.

took the last wildcard team 11 wins to make the playoffs last year. With the extra game it could be higher or at least the same. Fangio doesn’t have 11 wins IMO.

I think if Paton is calling the shots that the coaching staff is toast after the season.

It's playoffs or bust for Fangio. Unlikely he sticks around.

Daboll is my first choice. Joe Brady is close depending on what he can do with the Panthers.

I'm on board with getting someone who can get us out of offensive purgatory. Watch the Trust hire Klint Kubiak. Lmao.

....I am really hoping there are enough W's in your easy schedule to get you all to the playoffs, where you will lose, and inspire the fans to want to keep Fangio....AND resign Teddy Treadwater.

Will suck for you guys when the next stage of player empowerment hits the NFL and Mahomes dumps KC to play for McVay in LA or Shanahan in SF

Yeah...that will suck. Mahomes has bought ownership into the Kansas City Royals, Sporitng Kansas City (MLS) and bought his wife the NWSL team in KC. He also is in on the Whataburgers that he's bringing to KC. He's laid down some serious roots...signed a 10 year contract....because clearly he's looking for a way out of town....

...but yeah..you're probably right...he'll need to get to NY or LA to "build his brand".

In this case it would just be upgrading football situations. Kelce will be done, Tyreek losing a step, bad defense, Reid will either be done or not 100% bought in at that point. Will make sense for Mahomes to push his way out of that and win rings somewhere else.

I believe Paton already knows who he'll offer the job to if it opens, but how about this:

I don't know about Daboll, but I know Dabo. Dabo Swinney! We get Deshaun Watson - just get him in here, then reunite him with his college coach ... Dabo is your classic genetically programmed born-to-win head coach - Lou Holtz, Hayden Fry, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, John Wristen, Bill Snyder.

13 years at Clemson - 13 Bowl games, 8 Top 10 finishes, 4 Championship Games, 2 National Champions - and his best team? The 2016 National Champions with Deshaun Watson Ch-ship game MVP. He's ready for the NFL......

And if Deshaun would happen to get into any
trouble in Denver, Dabo can show him how
to stay One Step ahead of the Law!

**** no to Dabo. He is the text book definition of a rah rah college coach. No way his style transfers to coaching adults. He is exactly where he needs to be.

Is t he more of a CEO type? Would depend on who he brings in for both offense & defense. That’s why it’s nice to hire a head coach that has one side of the ball figured out. Harbaugh seems to be a CEO type and has done well.

Yeah, but the Deshaun Watson connection might really work.

You're probably right, but the guy is a stone-cold born winner, same as Nick Saban, Urban Meyer. Those guys are really really rare.

Daboll all day! I love Dabo but I don't think he would work out well in the NFL. Kliff is working out in AZ mainly because he has a great QB and has had a ton of money to sign players... and he happened to be in the right place at the right time to fleece the Texans with the Hopkins trade.

I am not big on Bienemy. I believe he is getting a lot of credit for having Andy Reid behind him making all of the big calls and game plans. The obviously is the beneficiary of Mahomes magic.

Carolina has an OC that is pretty damn good and Kellen Moore is looking pretty good down in Dallas. Bottom line though, if you plan on drafting a QB then Daboll is your guy. That dude worked magic with Josh Allen and the way he has gone about it is more inspiring than anything else... do a little research on how connected he is with his offense and QB and you'll be hard pressed not to like the guy.
