        That sounds like the old school Yankees "rigged" spring training competitions. They knew before the spring began who they wanted and that guy would "win".

          HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

          I'm glad there's been some change to the way clubs operate, some of it done by the new CBA.

          A rookie who has mastered the higher levels that performs in camp and has all the tools should make the team on Opening Day.

          The Cubs played hard ball with Kris Bryant in spring 2015 and it damaged the relationship before he played a game. Now he's finishing his career with a fan base that doesn't even care for him.

            Too much gamesmanship with clubs. I get that it saves you a few mil in arbitration but honestly, if the player is really good it's just going to cost you later on with a contract extension because the agent is going to attempt to get that year back any way.
            You either sign them earlier and buy out a few years or you sign them later and risk it costing more. The rules are already favorable as hell to the clubs.
