  • Sounds like Gordon is gone.

Gordon remains undaunted, however, as he told Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd.

“I know eventually they want him to be the guy and to take over,” Gordon told Cowherd last week. “And the thing is, I’m still fairly young and I still want to compete at a high level. I just don’t wanna take a back seat.”

I didn't like him at first but he has grown on me and I love the 1 , 2 punch.

I hope they can make it right with him . I would love to see what those two could do with a real QB and a competent coaching staff. I mean think of what it could be like when another team had to defend the pass. Those two could be HUGE !!

Sucks but I think we probably all saw this coming.

Sounds like he wants to be in Denver but knows he’ll make more money and get more carries on a new team. Williams/Boone/rookie will be fine.

He was always a rental if the draft worked out. He served his purpose and it was a great FA signing, wish him luck if he moves on. We are lucky we hit on Williams as hard as we did. Dude is a stud.

He’s a damn good RB but when Williams was drafted it was expected he would move on. Best of luck to him.

RBs come and go in the modern NFL, like hired guns.

Fumbled away 2 games. Trend in his career. Has talent, but is expensive. We have Williams and better options.

              Easy decision.

Solid running back, but had the propensity to fumble at the worst time. The Broncos need to add talent to the RB stable.

I would’ve preferred to keep Lindsay and never bring Gordon here in the first place.

Melvin's a good running back. Best of luck to him if he lands elsewhere. Hopefully he gets multi-year deal with an AAV that nets the Broncos a decent compensatory pick in '23.

Lindsay fell off a hill quickly. After two solid seasons (and an incredible rookie campaign), the wheels fell off in year three. He was pissed when the Broncos signed Gordon. After an injury-plagued third-year, he subsequently demanded his ROFR tag be rescinded prior to 2021 FA so he could go elsewhere.

Ironically, he went to team (Texans) where was third on the depth chart, got released, and did nothing with the Dolphins after signing with them. Will be interesting to see where he winds up this coming season. Don't know if he will ever get back to the level of play we saw from him early in his career.

George Paton was 100% right to not even give Lindsay an RFA tender. Completely washed up but people wanted to reward a feel good story on a bad team. That’s not how you run a franchise.

Lindsay was never as good as he was hyped up to be. Too small, not good enough between the tackles. A nice story for sure but signing Gordon was the right move.

Can't wait to see who the Broncos draft on Day 3 to pair with Javonte Williams. 😍

I was blinded by Buff loyalty. I'm willing to admit that.

I honestly hope he rebounds and can get back to his former self. I've got nothing bad to say about him, but just didn't like how entitled he acted after Gordon was signed. Then again, we would all probably be upset if the same thing happened to us. 😁

It is probably toughest for a RB to be honest with themselves with regards with their value to a club. They get the ball a lot and take a pounding but with few exceptions are mostly interchangeable. Really sucks for them, I am old enough to remember when a stud RB was valued like a top tier WR today.

Lindsay was getting paid pennies on the dollar and was undrafted. And he was a local kid too, so no wonder he felt disrespected. He was.

True. But that is what makes Lindsay's decision a bit baffling. He definitely felt undervalued [rightfully so], but ended up going to a place with a more crowded backfield than Denver's at the time. If he wanted an opportunity to showcase his abilities, he shouldn't have went to one of the worst run-blocking teams in the league with two veteran backs (Johnson, Ingram) already ahead of him.

See, I’m not sure just yet. Usually I have a RB I am obsessed over(ok, fine, usually it’s 2 🤣) but this draft is so weird with the RB’s but usually the Vikings history was to take a RB in the top 3 rounds every other year or so. We only have Williams and Boone and Minnesota would tend to sign FA’s when they didn’t draft a RB.

Spiller is probably my favorite RB at the moment but I see some value guys as well they barely got touches in college.

I bear no ill will toward Gordon, but I'm not going to miss him either. There are younger, cheaper options available in the draft every year and Gordon just isn't at the level of Derrick Henry were you run your offense through him. See if we can roll some of that cap space into making a play for Orlando Brown who could hopefully address our RT situation, while simultaneously weakening the Chiefs.
