  • Reggie Herring

Mike Klis has reported that ILB coach Reggie Herring has been relieved of his duties with the Denver Broncos.

I know a lot of you really like the Hackett higher but is this really a good move for the team?

If you're going to hire a HC you need to let him get his guys.

Yep we’ve seen it many times before especially under VJ and McDouche.

I think Reggie was a key figure and I understand but Hackett should allow his defensive coordinator to make those decisions but perhaps he behind close doors since the rumor is Evero will be the new defensive coordinator.

I’m not personally attached to any of the assistant coaches. Whatever changes are made to improve the Denver Broncos, I am all for.

We need to let the HC take decision and support him(which our FO is doing)

I'm all for fresh ideas and coaches. We've been seeing the same shit with shitty results for 6 years, we need change regardless of how we like or feel about some coaches.

At this point I’m fine with sending every holdover packing.

Sometimes when you take a shit there will be corn or peanuts in there. You flush that too.

I think Herring is being scapegoated for the lack of high draft picks at his position. Also, his starting two ILB’s went on permanent IR very early in the season, and it was all patchwork from there. When Browning finally got healthy and was on the field, it appeared he was really coming on.

All that said, I think a coach needs “his” guys, and I have no doubt Hackett has been talking to Evero about possible defensive coaches. Evero may already have someone in mind for ILB coach. The only question I would have is he an upgrade, or is he just a buddy? Let’s hope for the former.

This. Also, the Broncos need a significant change in culture. Hackett can’t afford to have anyone on staff that isn’t 100% bought in to the new direction and the (hopefully) new organizational mindset. I’ve seen this over and over with executive teams in Silicon Valley. New leader keeps someone on staff and that person ends up being an albatross around the neck.

Lots of "nice guys" get relived of duties. You have to allow the new coach to get his guys and build his vision/locker room culture. The reality is that SB 50 was a long time ago and it's time for a paradigm shift.

I actually liked the work Herring had done with what he was given to work with. I was hoping he was 1 of 3 coaches that would return. Kolar, Herring and Parker

He wants young, energetic, diverse. I'm fine with that. Viva La Hackett!
