This should really energize the fan base....I think there was a large contingent of Broncos fans that didn't want another Defensive background coach. It will also serve to really put the Aaron Rodgers to Denver stuff through the roof.
I'm not a Broncos fan and I live in Texas, but I gotta think the entire media market in Denver is going to be about Rodgers to Denver speculation on steroids now.
I am personally stoked about this. I am all for the flaky, playoff choker, getting old, aloof, version of Rodgers coming to Denver.
Hope is fast being restored in Denver. I love it!

Will be interesting to see how the Rodgers thing plays out.

Great news. I definitely thought he would be the leader they were looking for, but had doubts they could get it done, especially with Woody saying they had an interview planned with O'Connell.
Even if he doesn't bring Rodgers (I don't want him for the price), I think it's a good move.

A) Hackett was their #1 all along and wasn't taking any chances letting him get stolen.
OR
B) Quinn was the guy and declined. Which set in second and third order effects.

I like it! Hackett was my hoped for first choice. Quinn was a retread in the John Fox mold and a defensive coach (I wanted offense). The inexperienced O'Connell was being pushed by Paton's right hand man, who played with O'Connell in college (reminded me of Elway's right hand man, Matt Russell, pushing Vance Joseph since Matt played with Joseph at CU). Hackett has a dynamic personality so the intro press conference and interviews should be interesting (opposite of the curmudgeon Fangio)

A couple of tweets on the hire:
Phil McGeoghan (new CU wr coach who coached in the NFL with Miami, Buffalo, and the Chargers)
@PhilMcGeoghan
·
The
@Broncos
are getting a great coach and person with Nathaniel Hackett. His ability to create schematic advantages and lead talent is proven, but his character as a man is a true competitive advantage. As a former Bronco, this hire really excites me.
Ross Tucker
@RossTuckerNFL
Broncos fans should watch the Jaguars Divisional Round win at Pittsburgh in 2017. Hackett called pretty much the perfect game. It was incredible.
