  • Tucker Carlson Viewers Want USA to Support Russia

A congressman from New Jersey has disclosed that he is receiving calls from viewers of Tucker Carlson’s primetime Fox News show, expressing distress at the Biden administration’s backing of Ukraine in the tense military stand-off with Russia.

Democratic representative Tom Malinowski said in a tweet his office was fielding calls from Carlson viewers “upset that we’re not siding with Russia in its threats to invade Ukraine”.

The callers, he said, “want me to support Russia’s ‘reasonable’ positions”.

News of the effect of Carlson’s broadcasts doubting support for Ukraine came as the Pentagon placed 8,500 troops on high alert ready to deploy to Europe, amid fears that a Russian invasion could be imminent.

Nato allies have been struggling to project unity in opposition to the Russian president Vladimir Putin’s belligerent amassing of more than 100,000 troops on the Ukraine border.

Carlson, the top-rated host on Rupert Murdoch’s rightwing news channel, has been using his nightly bully pulpit to question the merits of Washington’s backing through Nato of Ukraine in the face of Putin’s expansionist threat.

On Monday night, his show screened an image of the White House with the words “War Machine” stamped over it.

    Of course. No surprise whatsoever.

That's the mother Tucker we all know.

NATO should have buffer states between itself and Russia to minimize the potential for war since NATO's core mission is to oppose Russia. NATO shouldn't allow any more states bordering Russia to apply for membership, peace is the most important thing.

So what is the argument for supporting Ukraine, we should think about it and the public should know the pros and cons. Its not a bad thing to questions things.

So war mongers want to go to war with Russia…….over UKraine…..got it.

When permanent Washington pushes for war with Russia, who benefits? We don't ask that question enough. The United States certainly doesn't benefit, that's obvious to anyone who thinks about it for a second. It's so glaringly obvious, in fact that the people pushing this war immediately denounced you as a traitor, if you point that out. They are betraying our country's interest, but somehow you're the one who's disloyal.

They're both foreign countries that don't care anything about the United States. Kind of strange

It's all an absurd performance, but it's all they've got in the end. The fact is, Ukraine is strategically irrelevant to the United States. No rational person could defend a war with Russia over Ukraine. Nobody thinks a war like that would make America safer or stronger and more prosperous.

But what's not at all complicated is who benefits from our conflict with Russia. China benefits. Period. The Chinese government is the only certain winner here. We can give you many examples to illustrate this, but consider the latest economic sanctions the White House has proposed against Russia.

Over time, it's dangerous and not just militarily. The only reason the U.S. government can enforce international sanctions is because the U.S. dollar is the world's reserve currency. Russia and China don't like this, obviously.

So let's say they've convinced other global powers that the U.S. government was abusing its monopoly on monetary control. If they do it to us, they might do it to you, they would say, and then other countries decided to drop the U.S. dollar in favor of a new currency. Where would that leave us?

Well, suddenly, the United States would no longer be able to run an economy based on debt. We will be impoverished immediately overnight.

Empowering China…..great idea. Border walls only are celebrated in other countries but US.

Why does Russia get to decide who joins NATO?

Problem is... China holds a lot of our debt. If the dollar goes, so does their economy. They buy our debt to devalue their own currency. That makes their goods cheap.

Flip side is China but lots of gold.. which we sell cheap, to manipulate the gold price.

I've heard people refer to Bitcoin as the market adjustment for gold. Another words the real price of gold, is closer to 50k an ounce.

Talk about going over the edge. Nobody said anything about supporting war with Russia. The question is, why would Carlson and the Trumpers support Putin?

If Ukraine was on the way to joining NATO at this moment then we would be much closer to WW3 right now (article 5). The last time we almost had WW3 was when Russia put missiles near our country remember. Just let Ukraine serve as a buffer state between Russia and NATO to keep the peace I say. Russia may loose power in the coming decades anyway, especially if there is less reliance on oil for energy. Taiwan however is much more important to the world economy than Ukraine.

I agree, but I don't think it would make a difference. I think Putin would just find another reason to invade. I think NATO should just close up the club doors at this point and find other ways to support Eastern Europe and the former USSR states without including membership. Play the long game. Disconnect from the fossil fuel ransom of Russia. Erode the economy until the streets of Moscow are filled with protesters. Cyber warfare. Etc. Putin is a mob boss. The key to his power is the economic strings he holds with his fellow oligarchs. A military response to his aggression, especially from the US, plays into his hands. If he invades, bleed him dry through proxies, like he did to us in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

Putin is a bully, and there’s really nothing that can be done to stop him unless we want to actually go to war with Russia. Sanctions are a bad joke….I’ve seen little evidence that they make any difference to even tinpot dictators, much less the head of a nuclear superpower. 🤷🏼‍♂️
