  • Looking back on Biden's top misdoings of 2021

My list of unbelievable misdoings by the Biden Admin. in 2021.

    1) forcing people with natural immunity to take the COVID vaccine to work and function in society
    2) pushing through heavy spending bills when we have the most inflation since the early 1980s
    3) leaving Afghanistan in an inept rush just to get out by the date of 9/11.
    4) encouraging migrants to cross the border in mass without even a COVID test while forcing citizens to take the vaccine to work
    5) mismanaging of the energy sector by closing pipelines/drilling
    6) reacting very slowly to issues related to the supply of imported goods
    7) failing to develop an effective plan to supply COVID tests this winter.
    8) politicizing the DOJ as a weapon to attack people who don't support political agenda (going after parents, going after Veritas etc etc)

Any one of these would be enough to put a President at the bottom of the list of Presidential rankings. Its hard to rank these failures, can you rank better than me?

Everything that Biden is having to deal with is the left over wreckage from Trump:

Trump’s failures during the coronavirus pandemic run the gamut from the rhetorical to the organizational. Every time the president speaks he seems to add to the fear and chaos surrounding the situation: telling Americans it was not serious by asserting his “hunches” about data, assuring people that everyone would be tested even when there were very few tests available, telling people that we are very close to a vaccine when it is anywhere from 12 to 18 months away, mistakenly asserting that goods as well as people from Europe would be forbidden from entering the United States, and announcing that Google had a website for testing while the initiative was merely an unimplemented idea, were just a few of his televised gaffes. After every presidential statement, “clarifications” were needed. Trump has the unique distinction of giving a national address meant to calm the country that had the effect of taking the stock market down over 1,000 points.

We have come to expect verbal imprecision and outright lies from this president, but that is more easily corrected on less momentous developments. When there is fundamental incompetence on matters of tremendous importance, voters punish poor results. And this is where Trump’s actions on the coronavirus have gone far off target. One of the most glaring deficiencies of his administration has been the failure to have enough tests available to identify those infected and to screen others for possible exposure. South Korea, a country a fraction of the size of the United States, is testing thousands more people a day than the United States. The failure to produce tests quickly will go down as one of the biggest failures in the overall handling of this disease because it prevented authorities from understanding the scope of the pandemic and therefore made it difficult for them to undertake appropriate steps to mitigate its spread. Other countries had tests and now state governments are rapidly rolling out their own tests after the CDC belatedly removed regulatory barriers. Even the nation’s chief infectious disease doctor, Anthony Fauci, has admitted that testing is a major failure—a statement that is most certainly not one of the president’s talking points.

In this and other areas, Trump has failed to learn from the failures of his predecessors. When President Ronald Reagan signed into law the fundamental restructuring of the military known as the Goldwater-Nichols reforms,[1] he did this knowing that he did not want a military fiasco on his watch like the failed Iranian rescue mission that did in Jimmy Carter’s presidency. And following the total breakdown in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s handling of Hurricane Katrina, President Barack Obama made sure his FEMA director was an experienced state emergency management director. He knew that poor performance during natural disasters would doom his presidency.

During the Obama Administration, the White House dealt with a precursor of the coronavirus: the Ebola virus. While the scrambling eventually worked out thanks to decisive executive office leadership, it illustrated that pandemics were a fundamental national security threat. They created the Global Health Security Team in the National Security Council to prepare. In May of 2018, Trump disbanded the team allegedly because he never thought pandemics would happen and because “I’m a business person. I don’t like having thousands of people around when you don’t need them.” Trump’s hurried justification for abandoning a unit (that was well short of thousands) showed Trump’s limited understanding of why government is different from business—it is in the business of preparing for low-probability events. For instance, the United States military spends billions every year preparing for wars all over the globe and even in outer space that may never take place. The art of presidential leadership is anticipating major problems and coming up with plans to mitigate them.

Biden is also dealing with a massive propaganda campaign (foreign and domestic) that has convinced a large proportion of the populace that the virus is a hoax, the vaccines are a hoax, the research scientific community is some kind of conspiracy, and other assorted ignorant bullshit. They are assisted in this campaign by major media outlets (FOX) on TV, streaming and radio.

Eliminating remain in Mexico, driving demand of migrants through the roof. Losing complete control of the southern border then reinstating remain in Mexico. Complete and utter ****ing joke of a president.

Blame Trump, that is all that is left after a year of historically bad Biden governance. Worse presidential performance the U.S. has ever seen, and its not even close. Running the country into the ground like Venezuela.

Criminal democrats loot trains now. Those are all packages from UPS…Amazon…etc that get ripped from the trains in LA.

so glad I live in Carmel and not these trash blue disasters.

absolute filth disaster the streets of CA is. Where you need your papers to enter a business….yet drug addicts shoot up and shit on the sidewalks outside of those businesses.

We were in Marshall’s last week and watched some deranged clown opening up boxes and putting stuff into duffle bags. Stealing. Marshall’s said they don’t prosecute….and don’t stop them. We called police…police said Marshall’s doesn’t prosecute so they don’t stop them. You can literally walk out of a Marshall’s/Home goods etc without paying and you won’t be arrested. Won’t be charged. People know this so they do it all the time. The key aspect criminals go off is not to do anything other than steal. If you push someone or vandalize etc you can be arrested. But just shoplifting there’s no penalty because of Marshall’s policy. Same goes for some other stores. Police get frustrated cause they can’t do their job for shoplifting from stores that use that policy. Just creates more crime.

The demonization of Biden as a Hitler, Stalin or anti-white racist bears no relation to reality. But for many Republican voters it appears to stick, the product of relentless conservative media attacks, the president’s own missteps, and seething frustration during a seemingly never-ending pandemic.

                            ......................

And although Biden’s identity as a white man neutralised other “isms”, he cannot escape ageism. At 79, he is the oldest American president in history, his every verbal slip seized upon as cause to doubt his mental fitness. Last May, Fox News host Sean Hannity displayed a sippy cup with the presidential seal on it, floating the nickname “Sippy Cup Joe”.

In August, Tucker Carlson told viewers of the same network: “Maybe the most important thing we’ve learned is that Joe Biden is not capable of running the country. Joe Biden is senile.” (Such commentators rarely note that Mitch McConnell, Republican minority leader in the Senate, is also 79.)

                            .....................

But there is no greater symbol of anti-Biden sentiment than “Let’s go Brandon”, a phrase that originated at a Nascar race in Alabama in October. Brandon Brown, a 28-year-old driver, had won his first Xfinity Series and was being interviewed by an NBC Sports reporter.

                            ....................

In a nod to the Trump base, Republican senator Ted Cruz posed with a “Let’s go, Brandon” sign at baseball’s World Series. McConnell’s press secretary retweeted a photo of the phrase on a construction sign in Virginia. Congressman Jeff Duncan of South Carolina wore a “Let’s go, Brandon” face mask at the US Capitol. Jim Lamon, a Senate candidate from Arizona, used the slogan a TV campaign ad.

Critics point out that goading, provoking and outraging their opponents, known as “owning the libs”, has become the defining principle of a Republican party that lacks a coherent ideology of its own. McConnell reportedly told donors last month that he would not be putting forward a legislative agenda for November’s midterm elections because he was content to merely hammer away at Democrats.

                            ..................

                            https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...zations-attack

In other words, as we saw last 1/6, the Trump Party has no other agenda than to attack and tear down. And anything the Democrats try in order to deal with climate change, the pandemic, economics, etc. the Republicans/Trumps are going to obstruct and blockade.

Like the article states, the Republicans/Trumpers don't even bother to create a political agenda for dealing with America's current issues (and McConnell is more than willing to admit it). Trump has trained them: All you need to do is attack and lie. Everybody get on board with the lies or get out. That is the current Republican Party ethos: Bow before Trump. There's a pandemic? Attack the health care system. Trump loses an election? Attack the Capitol in an effort to overturn the election and then assault the voting rights of Americans. There are economic and climate issues that threaten all of America? Obstruct and attack. Anybody who disagrees, including the U.S. government and the Constitution, are the enemies. And what does the right wing noise box media do? Attack! Attack! Attack!

                                    Solutions? Zero.

The only goal left for the Republican/Trumpers is to reinstall Trump back in the WH by whatever means necessary, concretize the minority control of the new authoritarian government, and put an end to democracy in the USA.

I agree. But the corporate oligarchy that Pelosi and her institutionalists serve is the same one McConnell and his institutionalists serve. Trump would do nothing to disrupt that dynamic other than continue his lifelong prostitution to it while treating the WH as nothing more than a personal income generator. What America needs is a constitutional convention. Not some clownish petty dictator. K Street runs America. That's the problem.
