Sounds like Eagles GM kinda dissed us .....
.
Last Saturday, Albert Okwuegbunam put together a preseason performance that got the attention of the Eagles’ brain trust.
The 25-year-old tight end was vying for a spot on the Denver Broncos roster in their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams. In the 41-0 rout, Okwuegbunam flashed upside with seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.
As good as his production was, it was the way he achieved it that inspired Eagles GM Howie Roseman to offer Denver a late-round pick swap Tuesday to get Okwuegbunam just minutes before he was waived.
“There’s not many tight ends who have 100-yard receiving games in the preseason,” Roseman said. “Albert has a unique ability to uncover, along with unique size, speed and length. Good lower body flexibility too, he has all the tools. And here he knows he'll get the coaching that he needs, and we’ll get the most out of him.”

Eagles' GM Howie Roseman is confident
Okwuegbunam, pronounced “oh-koo-ay-boo-nam,” arrived at the NovaCare Complex Wednesday, joining tight ends Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll, and Grant Calcaterra on the team’s initial 53-man roster. He said this chance with the Eagles is a "welcome fresh start for me, and after three years in Denver it comes along now at just the right time."
His performance Saturday against the Rams went a long way toward making his fresh start possible. “It was a really big game for me,” Okwuegbunam said, "seeing the position I was put in, having to prove myself again in my fourth year. I was just fortunate I could go out and have a big game because that's what led to me being here."
Okwuegbunam, a 2020 fourth-round pick out of Missouri, had 54 catches for 546 yards and four touchdowns in his three years with the Broncos. Last season he was overshadowed by rookie third-round pick Greg Dulcich.
One of the best plays of his career was an impressive 64-yard catch against the Eagles in Week 10 of the 2021 season. Although it was one of the best games in his career, it wasn’t the one Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts remembered him for.

“He remembered me because I played against him at Alabama in 2018,” said Okwuegbunam, who had four catches for 47 yards in that game. “I made a couple plays that day, and he remembered. He talked with me some about the offense here when I showed up (Wednesday), gave me a few tips to get me started."
