  • Nightmare on the horizon. What if everyone will owe Nathaniel Hackett an apology? As of now...it seems maybe

Ok, the scenario. The Broncos with Sean Payton suck and it seems like that might be the case. Russell Wilson sucks under Payton and so far that seems to be the case. Aaron Rodgers thrives under Hackett with the Jets and that is a distinct possibility. The Broncos completely shit the bed with Wilson and the Jets thrive.....

There is the nightmare realized cause now we will endure endless speculation that Hackett was actually not that bad and it was Wilson all along and the Jets actually got what the Broncos were aiming for when they hired Hackett in the first place.

Rather Obivous that they thought hiring Hackett would lure Rodgers to the Broncos and I seem to recall many Broncos fans looking forward to thar.

Nightmare scenario and after week 1 of preseason it seems that could be on its way.

Is Hack the Jets head coach? Cause we got Hack the HC, not Hack the OC.

I saw this coming since they hired Sean Payton. This team will be the front runner for the Caleb Williams sweepstakes.. unless our clown GM didn’t already trade that pick for some washed up scrub.

Im pissed they didnt just crater the whole thing and get Williams. I dont see this team being bad enough to get even a top 5 pick. George really ruined this whole thing worse than even Elway would have.

Too early to panic, the 49ers just got smoked by McDaniels (btw Aidan Oconnell looks legit).

We’ll see how Payton does in adjusting and tweaking things this week vs SF. Payton was crystal clear that he hates losing, so the team/coaches will have to step it up this week because Kyle isn’t going to be a happy camper after the drubbing he got in Vegas today.

Elway as a GM is much better than Paton.

You’re probably right - you can usually tell everything about how the season’s going to go from the first pre-season game. 👍🏻

Unless they win. Then the same trolls will remind everyone that it’s just preseason.

Hack did not require player accountability and discipline. Payton has already showed that player accountability and discipline are his main priorities. No one owes Hack an apology. Aaron Rodgers likes Hack because Hack lets him kind of do what he wants. That might work with Rodgers but it doesn't tend to work with many other players.

No matter how this season ends, no one owes Hackett an apology for that shit from last season.

Typically you can. However being that the short and tort Wilson was kept in there for the shit defense of the Cardinals (not their shit first team, but 4th team) I wouldn't be too optimistic.

                          I mean are you?

Also, not for nothing. Paton was targeting Rodgers and thought Hackett was the best chance to get him.

Some Bronco out there thinking that would have been bad?

Come on you guys...I live to sow doubt and discontent in here and I don't think this is how things will play out.

The nightmare you should be worried about isn't completely sucking at a 5 or 6 win level again, but rather, being completely mid, mediorcre, slightly in the realm of barely average, and you can't find a QB/coaching combo that gets you anywhere for decades.

You guys will actually be better off if you completely suck, just horribly bad. It will force the rebuild that should have commenced in 2017 or 18.

I didn’t see the game, so I’ll preface this post with that. 👍🏻 However, you’re talking about a hypothetical scenario which never happened. We never had both Hackett and Rodgers here. And from what we saw of his coaching, um, “ability” last season, unless he was coming with Rodgers (which he didn’t), then Hackett was a 💩 hire as a HC.

Plenty of guys are good coordinators but sorry head coaches and Hackett certainly appears to be in that group. It’s a big jump from coordinator to HC and requires a different skill set. So all due respect, but I reject your premise entirely. The only thing we should apologize to Hackett for is for not leaving him in Seattle last year. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Wowza. There’s some serious PTSD here. It’s like texting an old girlfriend that cheated on you and apologizing to her. WTF man? Apologize to Hackett? Holy shit, this is weak sauce.

I mean, everyone is fairly entitled to their opinion, but what on earth is going on here? I just don’t get it.

One preseason game with an opposing coach sending 7 man blitzes all night and we’re worried? If you ran Javonte into a 7 man blitz, he breaks 1 tackle and goes 30 yards. That ends that shit pretty quickly. It wasn’t indicative of what we’ll see during the season. If so, it’s pretty easily beaten when used regularly.

I mean, let’s just nut up around here and enjoy the process. It won’t be perfect, but this team has a lot of pieces, and should be competing for a playoff spot in game 17. Just stop with the “Hackett apology” talk, he was a terrible head coach.
