        This just makes me sick.
we could have had a QB competition between high draft pick QBs multiple times by now.
we better ****ing draft a QB high every year till we find two.

And linemen. Why the hell don't we draft lineman that don't stink?

**** Wilson and all vet QBs.
We need to find a draft QB and
        We suck anyway.
Let's take our tank now like grown men taking medicine and get Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.

I’m thinking that bad-mouthing the Jets may end up being a not so great decision for Payton…

How concerned should we be that both Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle have looked decent in Hackett’s offense?

It’d be fun to have a young QB to be excited about. We haven’t had that since when? Cutler? Lol

Fans were excited about Drew Lock. Then it fizzled out during his 2nd season.

Naw man no one saw Lock coming before the draft. Only Zero wanted him and only as as a back up for KC.

He was a third round talent taken in the second round.

Cutler was a high level prospect out of college. Closest we did to that was Lynch.

I remember Lock fan boys before the draft that wanted to draft him at 10. Then we traded down to 20, and they really wanted him then.

The narrative at the time was that he was a first round talent that slid to the 2nd round, and Denver got a steal.

Small hands and accuracy issues were the excuses on why he slid to the 2nd.

Considering we only play them 1 time, not concerned at all.

I mean bigger picture. We blame Hackett for the Broncos offensive ineptitude last season. The Jets offense playing well with bad QB’s suggests, but does not prove, deeper issues.

A lot of Broncos fans were excited about Lock and wanted him at #10 that year. There was talk all during run up to the draft.

Could you imagine if we took Lock at 10?
We would be even larger laughing stocks.

It wasn't until right before the draft that anyone started talking about him and that was mostly Zero.
Everyone else was like "anybody know about the QBs we could actually get?" No one was going Lock Lock Lock! For him during the college season.

Hell I'm down to fail miserably and get a top draft pick. That's like my #1 preferred scenario besides Wilson stops being brain damaged and the Line keeps him upright.

The suck is if we go 9-8 get shit for draft picks, miss the play offs, and still are not able to jump through the only window for the next three years we get of cutting Wilson.

                              Payton is a good coach.
Wilson is washed, the line stinks, the kickers cant be counted on.
He set it up to be a tank if you ask me.
Weapons remain so he's ready to go with a new guy.

You guys would be in GREAT SHAPE if Paton hadn't signed Russ up for that extension. You guys would have been able to move on, eat his old contract easily and you'd be sitting here, probably right now with a new GM and HC, clearing out this roster....and getting ready to embrace a tank for a true franchise QB.

The trade was bad....but it's that contract extension that's the real killer. That contract basically left you practically no other viable path forward other than to try and get a coach and veterans in here to see if you can get Russ cooking.

Just keep in mind, with Russ contract, and Paton still on board, not many coaches would want to undertake the job. Sean Payton was/is the right hire under the circumstances.

..........It would have been bold and unpopular....and the national media would have crapped all over the new owners........but they should have just cleared it all out. Cut Russ...hired Rossburg to be HC (because he would have done it) to be a regent/steward over a complete tank. Ownership could have explained that they saw it wasn't working, and it was long overdue to rebuild.....and then could have said....and hey, we are going to spend money once we clear all the crap off the books....this season is a punt....and we will spend to upgrade the scoreboard and stuff.....and we promise...we'll get it turned around in a hurry once we eat and digest this crap sandwich we bought.

Russ contract made that a pill just too big to try and swallow.

yeah I agree. Russ wasn't even pushing for the extension I heard. There were already signs in camp last year that Russ wasn't playing well even before the extension was given.

Well preseason week 2 is here. Really think that Peyton gives the team no nonsense, old school, discipline type of football as you can only hope it will come to wins.
