  • Nik Bonitto another George Paton strike!!!

Why is nil Bonnito looking like a young von miller this year in training camp? He’s been raising hell on all 3 tackles bolles big gleech and flemmings lol Paton just keeps drafting young up n coming stars regardless the round smh and some dumb ass fans swear he shoulda been fired for literally nothing other than being fooled by Hackett in the interview I mean wtf can you say Hackett can talk a good one and had all these new ideas about play calling etc and was completely overwhelmed from the start. Smh doesn’t even put a dent in patons credibility at all! The man’s a top 3 GM in the league and will bring us championships now that he has his head coach.

but anyway let’s gooooo Bonnito !!!!!

yeah he cracks me up all the time. He has a passionate creativity for negativity against the current team.

Even though it's camp hype, this thread aged well. Bonnito jumped off the screen in college. Hope to see it translate to the field.

The real question is -- can Nik Bonitto set the edge adequately enough to play on 1st and 2nd down? If he bulks up enough to do so, can he still retain the bend that he showed in college that made him such a good pass rusher?

Evaluation of the two above points is impossible in a practice setting. He needs to show out in the preseason games, or risk riding the bench for another season.

Jarvis Moss, Shane Ray, DeMarcus Walker, Nik Bonitto.... I feel like I've seen this movie before.

15 career games started, and out of the league in four years? No, that would be a failing grade for a second round pick, I think.

Hell no! Way better potential than Shane ray, Shane ray was a fake Shawn merriman without the impact plays

Honestly, this just comes to him, his nutrition, and his ability to increase strength. He's literally the same measurables as Von. Maybe he needs to follow Von's offseason regimen for a year or two - or maybe he has? I haven't seen him on the field yet, so I really can't comment. But, a "guy his size" is perfectly capable of setting (and disrupting) the edge. It's on him now to prove he belongs.

Please believe this is the year baby !!! Did you see him run that running play down from the backside and blast the shit outta the RB??? If he’s gonna make impact plays vs the run I already know on passing downs he’s going to eat!

Gregory & Clark are the listed starters with Bonitto & Cooper as the first back ups. What will be interesting is when Browning comes off the PUP. Does he bump one of the two down a spot, or does he go to 3rd string? I would think he has to prove it to go back to 1st string.

It will be four guys rotating in the games. Gregory and Clark won't play more than 60% of the snaps.

Even with pads on, the offensive and defensive line don't go full-bore in practice, and they rarely tackle the ball carrier full force, as well. Bonitto's exactly the type of guy who looks great in 3/4 speed practices, then gets his ass handed to him when the real games start.

I want him to succeed, and I hope he does, but it's something to watch out for this preseason. We need him to take a big step forward, strength-wise.

You did not see him cracking helmets on the field tonight? He was definitely in the mix on some head cracking

he played well. Lot of pressure. I think he penetrated once and gave up a 10+ run around the end but its hard to tell if he was supposed to do that in the defensive play call or not with someone else covering the end.

i'm not even saying that, but its not a pro body. shaq barrett turned himself into a pro over an off season. i don't see that transformation from this kid. probably needed some of those mexican supplements.
