  • Who are you excited to watch this year?

At best we’re all cautiously optimistic that the team will improve so let’s focus on some things we feel good about. Who are you excited to watch this year?

    My pick:

Caden Sterns: I think he has a chance to grow into one of the best safeties in the league if he can stay healthy. He’s shown the athleticism and playmaking ability when he’s been on the field. In a full time role with good health luck I like his chances to be a great and fun player.

I'm excited for the season to start but tentative about any member of the Broncos. 7 years of futility will do that to you.....that and Vance Joseph. I would agree on Caden Sterns as it's been a neglected position for years. Overall I guess I'm most anticipating to see what the D will be and do.

I’m looking forward to seeing how guys look in a real offense coached by real coaches. Wilson, Jeudy, and Dulcich in particular.

I take "excited to watch" to mean: First the players whose contributions I think are most critical to success, and second the ones I'm most interested in:

Defense: Randy Gregory + Demarri Mathis, most interested in Drew Sanders

Offense: Russell Wilson + Lloyd Cushenberry, interested in Greg Dulcich

Homie is gonna have a Geno Smith taking over after Wilson year... Once he takes over after Wilson.

Tim Patrick. Easily the most underrated Bronco. Has only ever balled out under shit qb’s and shit coaching.

                Okay okay... Jokes aside...
                I'll be genuine.

I want to see what Allen, Gregory, Clark and Jones can do.

I'm digging Sterns as the starter.
We definitely got DBs good enough to be like the no fly zone again if the line can get pressure and someone can cover a TE.

I want to see Virgil, Mims, Washington, or Hamler actually play burner instead of crossing slot.🤦🏽‍♂️

I'm looking forward to seeing Patrick and Williams back too.

                I'll cheer for the Hobbit.
Until he sucks balls in two real games in a row. Third I'm throwing proverbial cabbages though.

Dulcich can make a big jump in year 2, maybe go from 2 TDs to closer to 10 like Jimmy Graham used to do in Payton's system.

And let's not forget about the trenches. I'm curious to see Ben Powers replacing Risner.

                    Defensively

I'm excited to see what Damarri Mathis looks like in year 2. He had a solid showing after being forced into action as a rookie and looked better each week after a rough start.

Nick Bonito is another guy I'm really wanting to see make that leap. Frank Clark is on a 1 year deal and Gregory isn't the most reliable. I do think we have a good rotation at OLB with Browning, Gregory, Clark, Bonito, Cooper with 3 of those guys being young bucks. If Bonito can develop the future at OLB looks pretty good.

The thing I'm worried about most defensively is who plays opposite Zach Allen. Hopefully we can get Shelby back in the mix.

                    Offensively

I'm most excited to see how the upgrades to the O Line help everything. When you can run the ball it sets up the play action passing game which is where Russ is at his best.

We need Jeudy to step up and look like he did towards the end of the season and keep playing with that fire. I had him as the # 2 wr in that 2020 class and so far in terms of production he's like the 5th or 6th out of that class.

Looking back at that class it still stings to know we could have had JJ and Hurts in the the same class.

I’m not excited about watching any one player. I’m curious to see if the Oline will be improved. Will the addition of McGlinchey and Powers be enough to start winning the LOS? The past several seasons on 3rd or 4th down and short, I had very little confidence in the offense being successful.

I'm excited to see whether the new staff and player additions can turn around the trainwreck of an offense we saw last year.

Co-sign. I know this may sound weird to some, but I’m excited to see how Payton puts it all together to give us the first non-embarrassing season in 7yrs. Also, I’m excited to see if we can put an end to leading the league in injuries; a proven coach that holds players & coaches accountable combined with a respected training staff should get us right there.

And finally, I’m excited to see Russ respond positively to the best offensive mind he’s ever had in his career.

Oh yes, Sanders. I actually wanted Jack Campbell but hoping the pundits and the Broncos were right in taking Sanders. Very neglected position since the SB, want to see it improved with quality.

Defensively, the utilization of Jewell and Singleton. Moreover, what Drew Sanders does to ILB and if they give him reps at EDGE. I think he is too talented not to get a good share of playing time.

Offensively, who takes the #3 or #4 back spot (assuming they might keep four pending how Javonte looks), Dulcich's growth and usage, and overall how the revamped OL plays.

Wilson - How does he adjust? I think he'll perform at a high level within the offense, but maybe not at first. It takes time

Patrick, Williams - Man I hope they get used sparingly upfront. I just don't think they'll be major contributors at first, maybe later in the season. I generally have low expectations.

Jeudy - its put up or shut up right out of the gate, but QB dependent.

I'll be interested in seeing how the team comes together under Payton.

Can we score a touchdown (perhaps, dare I dream, on the opening drive?)

Will the defense still be as good with Evero gone?

Can we make it through a season without a star player tearing an ACL? EDIT: or a F^&%^%&* Achilles... FML

Is the team deep enough to compete after giving away all those draft picks?

Can we go .500 in the division and take one from KC?

Honestly, I am excited to see Russell Wilson with a real coach. I speak for everyone who was even semi excited that we traded for him when I say that we were SCAMMED by Hackett. I firmly believe that one does not just 'forget' how to play quarterback. Russ is one of the winningest starting QBs in the game and even at his worst in Seattle he was still a top 5-10.

With last years humility, and the sharp mind of Sean Payton - I am excited to see what this teams potential is. (VERY CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC) I dont count last year. It didn't count. Lol, Hackball cheated us. THIS is our first year with RW.
