    In an interview with USA Today, Broncos coach Sean Payton called the work Nathaniel Hackett did with the 2022 Broncos "one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL'' and took a shot at the Jets for trying to win the offseason.


    That wasn't his fault," Payton added. "That was the parents who allowed it. That's not an incrimination on him but an incrimination on the head coach, the GM, the president and everybody else who watched it all happen. Now, a quarterback having an office and a place to watch film is normal. But all those things get magnified when you're losing. And that other stuff, I've never heard of it. We're not doing that

      That was a wild quote.

      But actions speak louder than words. Half the board was convinced Paton would get canned after the draft and instead he got another year. We all know he’s gone next year if this season is a flop but that was a given 🤷‍♂️

          Umm no we all don’t know shit!!!!!! George Paton is fkn great at his job! The broncos have been drafting plenty of talent EVERY DRAFT EVEN WITHOUT FIRST ROUND OICKS WE HAVE GOTTEN STARTERS! Wtf would Paton be fired for ? And how did coach shit on Paton ? He simply blamed every body for last years debacle! And put the majority of the blame of Hackett

                                  Agree. He’s not wrong. People are butthurt about it because they’re not used to straight talk like that, but it’s the truth. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Could he have phrased it a little more gently? Sure, but Hackett was legendarily awful last season, from Game 1 onward and he never really got any better. An embarrassment to the entire NFL coaching fraternity if we’re being honest.

                                      Well we know Payton didn’t watch the Colts OT fiasco.

                                      But anyway, what was the point of this? Can someone help me out here. Training camp just started, Payton wanted to be all business all off-season and then out of nowhere just unloads on the organization.

                                      Not only that, but he ropes in the New York media and Jets org into this mess.

                                                Payton is saying these things for the players, putting himself out there to say last season wasn't their faults. That is a leader, sticking up and risking yourself for the guys you lead. He is trying to build a winning mindset despite the poor performance last season with Russ and the other players.

                                                                              Dude - Payton had zero involvement with or responsibility for bounty-gate. All he did was lie to the commissioner to deflect blame from his staff and assistants. Look it up.

                                                                              Radio is good as a DC and doesn't get lost there.
                                                                              He just stares like a fish being overwhelmed as a HC.

                                                                              But Payton is a real HC.
                                                                              First one we've had, besides our interim HC last season, since Kubiak.

                                                                              So... to hell with it.... My lack of faith in the Hobbit be damned!

                                                                                    Payton’s set himself up here. If the teams record doesn’t improve, if Russ isn’t considerably better then he’s set himself up to look like a fool. That said, everything he said is true. Hackett was beyond bad and all the higher ups stood around wth their thumbs up their asses watching the team burn. Rosburg came in and called people out and the team responded. I’m expecting the team to respond this year. Hacketts buddy buddy schtick set the tone for disaster.

                                                                                        yeah Payton put himself on 'death ground', but he likes a challange. I think he just had to go the route of honesty with the team over just trying to make everyone in the organization happy.
