  • "Trad" Wives movement

Anyone heard of this? USA today say a lot of young women are gravitating toward the traditional housewife role of staying home, cooking and cleaning.

    First I've heard of it.

More Millennial, Gen Z women are finding interest in ‘trad wife’ lifestyles. What to know. | Watch (msn.com)

Being young doesn't equate to being liberal, usually. Remember Michael J. Fox's character on Family Ties back in the 1980s? Alex P. Keaton was a Reagan Republican.

Maybe it's one of those things that happens so often in life where the pendulum swings really far to one side of things and there is something of an acknowledgement things went too far and then the pendulum swings back the other way.

I guess I find this fascinating because some elements of the feminist movement were kind of militant about the idea that being a housewife was almost equal to slavery and was something no woman should be or want to ever do....when really the idea was/is/or should be that a woman should be empowered to choose her path, to include being a housewife if she wanted.

I dont really know that this "trad" movement thing is political....I'd be willing to bet that alot of these ladies who are taking this up, aren't conservative (R) voters...but really are moderate/liberal women who see it as an empowered lifestyle choice

As far as Alex P Keaton.....what a great character! .....with his granola parents as the contrast....that show was underrated. Fox was a great actor.

My wife loves it when I carry things for her, anything that isn't feminine like a handbag. Opening doors, holding the umbrella for her all that old school stuff men used to do. Started when she had a sore back but she said she loves it so it continued. The more traditional things go the more she likes it. She really likes it.
