  • Von Miller still refers to the Broncos as "We"

    Link

“This is the question I’ve been waiting for,’’ Miller said. “I love the Broncos. (General manager) George Paton and the job that he’s done. Bringing in McGlinchey, bringing in Russ. We’ve got the best corner in the league in Patrick Surtain. We’ve got the best safety in the league – if he’s not 1 he’s No. 2 in Justin Simmons. Our defense has always been stacked. I’m a big fan of (Baron) Browning, a big fan of Randy Gregory. Big fan of Javonte Williams. A big fan of Russell Wilson, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, Tim Patrick. All of these guys, man … ‘’

It was pointed out to Miller that he’s still using the “we” pronoun when talking about the Broncos.

“It will always be ‘we,’’’ Miller said. “I spent 11 years here, it will always be ‘we.’ But I just have a different outlook of watching this team. I’ll always be a fan of the Denver Broncos. I know how they run things. I know the culture. I know the team chemistry. Had an up-and-down season last year. This year, it will be totally different. I’m excited for those guys. All they have to do is beat the Kansas City Chiefs one time and they’ll be able to win the division, 100%.”

I see what you're doing there Mr Miller. Planting the seeds for your eventual President of football ops return.

Von and I are the same page.

it’s all about beating the Chiefs once to break the trend. came close last year and Russ’ 16 yard end around TD shows he can still make plays against big time competition.

i think Payton and specially Russ understand his ability and this year will be the year we beat the Chiefs.

We need Von back. I don't care if it's as a coach or on the field. The man bleeds blue and orange. I miss the hell out of the chicken farmer .

Champ was elite but Von delivered a SB and reset the expectations of what an edge rusher should be.

Steve Atwater played the best game in Broncos D history.

I think Champ was better but the positional value of a game wrecking pass rusher is just on a different level.

Atwater is my favorite defender all time.
I'd take him over Champ in the secondary too.

IMO Atwater and Miller both had their greatest games in SB32 and SB50.

I remember Ronnie Lott saying that Atwater's performance was the most physical game he had seen a safety play in the NFL. That is high praise. As fans, you have to appreciate how much that Broncos team in SB32 wanted it. They played so hard and demolished the myth the Broncos were Superbowl losers. When Mobley knocked down that last pass I felt like time stood still and I was in dreamland. The other two SB wins were great, but nothing compares to SB32.

I think Al Wilson and Karl Meck need at least an honorable mention. I absolutely loved to watch Wilson play.

Every season I watch and hope that this franchise would draft a new MLB like Wilson. Been far too long since we had that type of presence in the middle of the defense.

That's a tough one. I think Von trumps Champ as he almost single handily got us the win in SB50.

Then again, Champ made 12 pro bowls to Von's 8 (so far).....

Both are 3x All Pro but Von has made huge plays in 2 SB runs with a SB MVP as the cherry on top.

Champ was a better athlete. However, Von made a bigger impact than Champ did. Von nearly singlehandedly won a Super Bowl. He derailed an NFL MVP caliber player's career in one game.

Champ was great, but his impact could be mitigated by a solid game plan just because of the position he played.

Both Champ and Von picked off Tom Brady in the playoffs in wins against the Patriots. 😝
