  • Now that seasons over 2022 FAs to…?

    Keep or let go?

I say let every single one of the broncos FAs go. Not one is worthy of keeping sans Alexander.

    multi year process:

let Chubb walk after his contract is up. Find a way to dump most the OL …. Keeping Bolles was a massive mistake. all new coaching staff. QB room cleared out. Let Fant walk. fire Ellis and Elway…..new owner…..

this is just the beginning of the real rebuild they’ve tried to do for 6 years now.

More sub 500 seasons to come until rebuild is done. In the end we could be looking at over a decade in a row of shit seasons counting the 6 so far ….

People bashed me for comparing Elway to Matt Millen but he’s exactly that. This clown has done long term damage for years. So naturally let’s let him pick the GM(who passed on Jones/Fields because he thinks CBs harder to find than QBs…)

Jones or Fields wouldn’t have done better at QB with this coaching staff. Surtain has been playing very well and was the right pick the move they should’ve made was playing Lock all year

That’s only one year they would be with this coaching staff. Well worth it.

Micah Parson is breaking Javon Kearse record. Best rookie performance I’ve ever seen. He’s a massive impact on all 3 levels. No matter how good Surtain is he’s limited because of his position. A QB and OC can take away Surtains impact. They can’t do that with Parsons.

Well there is that but I’m happy with Surtain and of these contributors there’s some worth keeping
        • RB Melvin Gordon
        • RT Bobby Massie
        • ED Malik Reed
        • S Kareem Jackson
        • CB Kyle Fuller
        • CB Bryce Callahan
        • LB Alexander Johnson
        • LB Josey Jewell
        • LB Kenny Young
        • QB Teddy Bridgewater

Two things worth noting: First, the Cowboys desperately wanted Surtain. Parsons was their fallback. Second, people forget that Parsons had some character concerns.

Correct, and they even moved back in the draft. How many teams from about the 7th pick on, passed on Parsons because of those concerns? Parsons was my #1 choice at 9, but completely understood why Paton would hesitate on him.

I don't think there are any must-sign players on the list, but believe Massie has earned another contract. RT position is pretty much a blank canvas this off-season with no long-term developmental option on the roster. I don't see why Paton doesn't kick the tires on a one or two-year offer to him.

I'd like to see Gordon stick around as a RB2, but I bet other teams offer him more than what Denver would given Javonte's presence and bright future.

I would have to think the linebacker situation (who is brought back) will be highly-dependent on next coaching staff's defensive scheme.

Agree with Massie. Extend him, he’s deserved it.

          • RB Melvin Gordon- Would love to, but can’t/won’t because of money, and he’s not the bell cow.
          • RT Bobby Massie- Yes. Extend him yesterday.
          • ED Malik Reed- Yes maybe, but he’s no Shaquil Barrett.
          • S Kareem Jackson- Yes, to similar deal as he has now. Tough guy that brings it.
          • CB Kyle Fuller- No. Let him go to the raiders.
          • CB Bryce Callahan- Maybe. Must be team friendly, bonus heavy deal with little guarantees.
          • LB Alexander Johnson- Maybe. See Jewell.
          • LB Josey Jewell- Maybe. See AJ. Try to get one of the two, but not both.
          • LB Kenny Young- Yes, prolly if team friendly deal.
          • QB Teddy Bridgewater- Hell no. Let him go to the saints, Texans, wherever.

            regarding PSII

right now our secondary is shutting down the top QBs . how much is that attributed to PSII being who he is

i have to assume he’s the main reason why.

only Paton and Vic know for sure.

Besides that nice tackle on Mixon. PSII doesn't look to be the enforcer type. Seems his game is more finesse.

Reminds me of Champ…. If he can occasionally roll in and destroy someone like Champ did, I’m all good with that. His coverage and tackles show a ton on promise and upside. Durability remains to be seen.

I'd say keep Jewell on a 1 year deal. I think he'll be cheaper than AJ, and I'm not sure AJ is any better based on how good Jewell looked at the beginning of the year.

That’s the way I’m leaning. Jewell can be a valuable utility type LB, and back up.

Yup. Assuming he was the primary on Ja’Marr Chase yesterday, he completely shut him down.

Louie Wright got very little recognition in the league because QB’s quit throwing his way. Good for the team, bad for the player because he doesn’t get the stats.

Calvin Anderson is on IR, so if we didn’t keep Bolles, we wouldn’t have a LT. The 1st hold yesterday was tricky tack, imo. But nonetheless, he was protecting Lock. If the defender gets by him and hits Lock and puts him out of the game, we have Hinton as our QB in a close game. Re-signing Bolles was the right thing to do. Left tackles do not grow on trees, as they say.

Broncos need to invest a premium pick in this year's draft on an OT. If Bolles doesn't have a good season next year, I'd assume Paton would consider exercising the team's option to decline the final two remaining years on his deal and move on.

I was thinking about how little I saw of him on their last drive, then he gave up the first down with about 3 minutes left. Regardless of that play, he seemed to do a very good job
