    65 game starter 👀 👀 👀
    Team Captain
    2022 Third Team All-Big Ten
    2021 Honorable Mention All-Big Ten
    2019 Third Team All-Big Ten

Prospect Summary from Dane Brugler of The Athletic
Alex Palczewski (pal-CHESS-key), who is one of three boys, is the son of Polish immigrants who came to the U.S. in the mid-1980s. At Prospect, he was a four-sport letterman (football, track, water polo, wrestling), although he missed most of his junior season with a fractured vertebra. He was a starting senior right guard in Prospect’s option offense. A three-star recruit, Palczewski committed to Illinois where he set a Big Ten record with 65 career starts across three different positions (finished his career with 4,390 offensive snaps). He has physical, insistent hands at the point of attack and stays after his blocks to spring runs. Although he plays with quickness, his footwork gets sloppy in his pass sets and he finds himself out of control at the second level. His wide hands invite rushers to bully him. Overall, Palczewski has played a lot of football with experience at both tackle and guard, but he can too easily be knocked off balance and struggles to sustain.

    GRADE: Priority Free Agent

The video was f-ing awesome. I’ll definitely be rooting for this kid, but he already seems like he has the ability and physical tools to fight his way into the team. Love it.

he doesn't look that strong to me, but I'm no expert. His goal should be getting on a practice squad and hitting the weight room.

Good find by the FO. I don’t know how he makes the initial roster unless they cut someone like Isaiah Prince, and decide this kid is worthy of protecting. Orlando Franklin thinks the Broncos may keep two backup tackles. That would be Cam Fleming, and either Prince or Palczewski.

I don't think it'd be absurd to keep Fleming, Prince and Palczewski on the initial 53 if at least one of them can also play at guard. Actually, having an extra backup OT that can be plugged at G might be more valuable than keeping a backup G that can't play another position such as OT if needed.

Keep him on the 53-man roster.

Just watched the video again. Still love this kids story. I was also just reminded about his durability - setting a big 10 record for games played. We could use that type of durability and longevity around here. I hope he makes the team!

65 straight games and like 4,300 snaps. Incredible stuff. Broncos haven't invested picks into OT for a while now, so they have to hang on to this guy. Wouldn't risk losing him to another team. Gotta keep developing him.

                      From The Athletic today:
There’s another undrafted rookie who has also given himself a chance to make the team, even if his path has been decidedly less flashy. Offensive lineman Alex Palczewski was signed by the Broncos after starting a Big Ten record 65 games at Illinois, a collection of starts that came across six seasons. During the two weeks that Mike McGlinchey missed with a knee sprain — the veteran lineman, in a great development for the Broncos, returned to practice Tuesday — Palczewski got work with the first team at right tackle. He has played 54 snaps in the preseason, including 35 against Arizona — the most of any Broncos offensive player in the preseason opener.

“He’s tough, smart, has played a lot of football,” Payton said. “There is this quality of, ‘He gets the job done.’ After the draft, we did a good job in that two-hour period of signing free agents. Sometimes offensive linemen are hard to get. We were able to sign a pretty good class of offensive linemen that has helped us and will help us, not only this year but in the future. I’m encouraged.”

Demontrey Jacobs is another offensive tackle the Broncos signed in free agency who has had second-team reps and a brief cameo on the first team in practices McGlinchey missed. Palczewski is probably the better bet of the two to make the 53-man roster given his overall experience, but the chances for both players could depend on how the math shakes out elsewhere on the roster.
