this is funny fan reaction to the pick in the video. Could be one of the Paton haters here. So funny the guy even thinks Elway is still making the picks with Paton.
He says the f word a lot so I didn't want to post the video here, but check out the link for a laugh if you don't mind the foul language.

Here's Dane Brugler's write-up for Riley Moss:
BACKGROUND: Riley Moss, who is an only child, grew up in Newton, Iowa, where he started playing flag football at age 5. His family later moved to Ankeny (10 miles north of Des Moines), and he attended Centennial High School. Moss didn’t ascend to varsity until his junior year, where he was a defensive back, wide receiver and return man. He finished his junior season with 37 tackles and three interceptions, averaging 13.4 yards on punt returns. As a senior captain, Moss posted 29 tackles and one interception and earned first team All-State and All-District honors. He finished the 2017 season with 167 receiving yards and added a 78-yard kick-return touchdown and 63-yard punt-return touchdown. Moss was also a standout in track and won the state championship in the 110-meter hurdles (14.02) as a senior after finishing runner-up as a junior. He set the state record in the 110-meter hurdles (13.85) in a different meet and was part of state championship teams in the 4x100 relay (42.04) and 4x200 relay (1:27.99).
A two-star recruit, Moss was the No. 248 cornerback in the 2018 recruiting class and the No. 13 recruit in Iowa. After attending multiple camps the summer prior to his senior year, he received recruiting interest from several FCS-level programs. Moss initially committed to North Dakota State, but he grew up a Hawkeyes fan, attending games with his father. And when Iowa reached out during his senior year, Moss decided to decommit and sign with the Hawkeyes as a grayshirt. He enrolled in the summer of 2018 and paid his way until the fall semester, when he was put on full scholarship. His father (Mark) played football at NAIA-level Waldorf University. Moss took advantage of the extra year of eligibility because of the pandemic and returned for a fifth season at Iowa. He graduated with his degree in sports management (December 2021) and is enrolled in graduate classes. Moss accepted his invitation to the 2023 Senior Bowl.
STRENGTHS: Talented turn-and-run skills from press coverage (posted elite 6.60 3-cone time) ... above-average foot speed and works hard to avoid being stacked downfield ... displays straight-line twitch to drive on throws in off coverage ... competitive downhill and shows up in the run game ... locates and achieves body position to tighten throwing windows ... his ball-attacking opportunities reflect his heightened awareness and studious habits (11 career interceptions) ... turns into an offensive playmaker post-interception (second in Iowa history in interception return yardage) ... always alert and doesn’t know how to play complacent ... senior captain and won the 2022 Team Hustle Award (on defense and special teams) ... 54 games played with 590 special teams snaps to his name.
WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal length and functional strength ... savvy route runners can get him leaning mid-route ... late at times to open his hips and run with posts/corners ... leaves some production on the field when he doesn’t pick up the ball quick enough out of turns ... guilty of hanging on receivers when he can’t leverage the catch point ... aggressive tackler, but misses happen when he fails to break down and come to balance ... missed time after a partial dislocation in his hip (October 2019) and a torn PCL in his left knee as a junior (October 2021) ... inexperienced as an inside cornerback.
SUMMARY: A four-year starter at Iowa, Moss was the right outside cornerback in defensive coordinator Phil Parker’s press-man and zone-match schemes. Only a two-star recruit, he was pushed into action as a true freshman and put together a strong five-year resume for the Hawkeyes, finishing top 10 in school history in career interceptions (11). Moss is a talented athlete who reads receivers hands/eyes to react without hesitation and challenge the catch point (one of three players in Iowa history with at least three pick sixes). Though he has natural cover instincts, he will lose his leverage at times versus sophisticated route runners, and NFL size will give him trouble on the perimeter. Overall, Moss needs to tighten up his footwork for smoother transitions, but he is a speedy and springy athlete who takes it personally when a completion is made on his watch. Some NFL scouts grade him as a safety, others as a true zone corner.

Putting his Skin Complexion aside, I see him as third safety in dime formations. He has ability to match up with TE and tackle but I am not sure he has enough long speed to be boundary corner. Solid ST and depth only. I can see him play a lot in the red zone when VJ like to flood that area with zone concepts.

Why do people keep mentioning long speed? 4.45 is legit speed for a tall CB. Is there good film of him getting burned deep?

Horse shit!! This dude is fast and his eyes and reaction ability is AWESOME! lol at is there any time he was beat…… as if that means ANYTHING! All corners get beat from time to time smh get fkn real! Talking about did he get beat a time or two? How about all the fkn ints he has? All the pick sixes? The 47 PBUs??? Lmao only a moron focuses on a couple negative plays and totally disregard all the great plays

Plus I recall the last time we reached for an Iowa CB in the 3rd round was ... Michael Ojemudia.
