Most years the NFL draft feels like Christmas. This year it feels like Columbus day to indigenous people. I’m not thrilled with where the team is right now and the lack of depth at multiple positions. 5 picks in the later rounds is not likely going to move the needle much.

This is a wash year, as is next most likely. I sure hope Payton is a magician with Wilson, but being a realist I’m thinking this team is pretty much relegated to 500 football for the next 3-4 seasons, maybe longer as we try to fill the whole at QB, and have the resources to do so.
I think this team will be better coached, but with no long term QB still and a thin roster, I think the pain will continue.
use this draft to find gems to start to build depth.
Sean Payton has been extremely aggressive getting his guys in the draft. I think Denver's needs line up well with value at the selections they currently have.
I won't be shocked if they move up from 67 and get a guy (perhaps packaging it with a player) to get someone they really want.
They basically have a full slate of picks next season. Just lacking a true second (swapped to Saints for their third) and a sixth. An extra fifth and seventh.
2024 Draft
First Round - Original
Third Round - Original
Third Round (via New Orleans)
Fourth round (They got a 4th in the Chubb trade, but that or their original goes to the Jets for Jacob Martin.)
Fifth Round - Original
Fifth Round (via Jets) - Original
Seventh Round - Original
Seventh Round (via Rams)
I don't think moving their future first-rounder is on the table. I don't think it should be either. If Wilson stinks, the Broncos will have to be in the rookie QB hunt in '24. They need that pick.
I agree. The only reason we would trade the first-round pick this yr would be if Payton wanted one of the top Qb's in this draft. You don't do it for a CB or pass rusher IMO. We could trade both of our 3rd round picks to jump higher into the 2nd round if there was a player Payton coveted.
Some of the league's best players have come in the 3rd round or later. Often these are the really solid football players that maybe don't run as fast or jump as high as some of the 1st round talent. But, football isn't all about how fast you run or how high you can jump. It's often about knowing your role and having a team-first attitude. It's about holding on to the football, playing hurt, studying film, and a lot of other intangibles. In the 3rd round we can find NFL starters. Hell, you might find a top end RB or interior lineman.
Chiefs interested in [trading up] for Flowers, Gibbs, and Johnston per Pauline and Breer.
I highly doubt that if KC moves up...it would be for any of these 3, and absolutlely ZERO chance in hell it's for Gibbs. Whoever put that crap out there and got Pauline to take it seroiusly, deserves a raise.
