  • Budda Baker is bad for football.

This is why the NFL is turning into the NBA. Players are now dictating the teams more than ever….
this guy signs an extension in 2020….making him the highest paid safety in the league. Fast forward a couple years and now he demands a trade because he wants to be the “highest paid safety in the league.” Yet he signed his contract to play through 2023 and 2024 seasons.

what a joke. Don’t sign a contract if you plan on ditching that team halfway through it. Todays era they demand trades over petty shit.

Players whine about teams not honoring contracts through…..yet they do the same thing.

What’s the problem? NFL owners almost never honor a contract.

Don't blame him for wanting to be traded to a team whose facilities will have running water in a few years.

The problem? Look at the nba. It’s now a joke where players just jump teams because their feelings get hurt. Just a few teams who even have a shot in todays era.

They could dissolve at least 3-4 teams. NFL would be more competitive if they lost a couple teams too. Never will happen though.

        schedule filler games.

shooting off on Social media airing out everything. That’s classy.

keep the shit in-house. In the lockerroom. This fanbase just trashed Jones for doing the same thing.

Whats he worth? A first? That’s a tough price if you have to sign him.

Baker crying for a trade does not mean he will get one. Is he willing to waste a season? The future of these tantrums will probably depend on how teams handle them.

I whine about grown men whining.
I whine about my team sucking.
              No one's paying me.
If someone wants to pay me millions to play a game, I wouldn't whine about it at all.

Umm, The Dolphins had the same issue with Xavien Howard. He signed a 5 year 76.5 mil extension in 2019, requested a trade in 2021 due to wanting to be the highest paid CB in the NFL, Dolphins reworked his deal to pay him more and than he signed another extension last year for 5 years and 50.91 mil in new money.
He didn't get it from the NBA...

Not enough draft capital or cap space to make this trade, unless it was a Sutton for Baker swap.

I get players who want a higher contract midway through their first contract.

but 2nd contracts are decided by the player/agent not like the 1st contracts….Budda should’ve never signed an extension if he wanted out…his own damn fault.

no doubt this fanbase would’ve trashed Justin Simmons if he had demanded a trade soon after his resign….wanting to be highest paid.

The Cards are tanking this year. Any player worth a shit in their prime should want out.

This is becoming the new norm in football. That's why you see "new money" on these extensions after 2-3 years.

That is all the players pretty much. It is kind of the point of even playing pro football.

Wasn’t that way in the past. Players had passion first.

Brady is the last of an era.

....He wants to be traded....he didn't say he wouldn't play or would not honor his contract if he is traded....nothing in his deal that says he can't ask to be traded. Diffrent if he flat out says, I'm not playing".

I've heard that agents only get paid when their players sign new contracts and if that is true then the guy's agent is probably in his ear about it. So...pay the guy or don't.

Every player, especially star ones are in it for the money. That's why they create brands and venture out into others things outside of football.

Read under the headline. “Highest paid safety in the nfl”.

why say this contract was so great then barely halfway through it complain about it…..

baker after becoming Highest paid safety in the league :

“It’s definitely an exciting thing for me to be able to say that,” Baker said when asked how he feels about being the highest-paid safety in the NFL. “It was a very cool experience and it’s a very cool experience right now for me. I’m just trying to earn what I make now. I’m labeled as this player and now I have to show out and continue to show out each and every week and that’s in my goals and plans to do that.”

Don’t say this shit if you complain about it 2 years later.

like I said. Bad for football. First sign of adversity and all these clowns do is demand trades.

The issue in trading for Budda Baker is very simple. Which team would be willing to give a draft pick and sign him to a new contract with the possibility that he will ask again to re-do the deal with multiple years left? It's not so much about Baker getting his money, but the timing of it and the lack of long-term security for the team that's putting the money on the table.
