Was Brock Purdy’s emergence predictable? S2 Cognition test has pointed to NFL success - The Athletic
For those who need the condensed version...there is a cognition test they've been giving to all players for a while now that tests your ability to react to multiple moving objects etc.
The top 10 passers in the NFL scored high on this. Brock Purdy scored high on this...when I say high, I mean in teh 90th percentile or better. All 15 of the bottom rated passers were in the 60;s. Drew Brees was in the 90's. Mahomes, Allen, 90's. Joe Burrow tested at 97th percentile.
I don't think teams have been paying that close attention to this but it's recnetly gotten alot of GMs attention...i think due in large part to Brock Purdy as I understand it.
Makes sense....QB has to process quickly to make right choice with ball.
