It's safe to assume Jarrett Guarantano won't be the 3rd QB on the roster. I don't expect the Broncos to draft a QB, but they might replace Guarantano with an undrafted rookie.Comment

IMO, it would be "smarter" to draft guys that could actually be used this year. If you want a QB, why not follow Payton's model of a "Swiss Army knife" guy like Taysom Hill? There are several guys that would fit this mold. Don't waste time with a mediocre backup quality QB, find someone that could come in for gadget plays this year and make a difference.

Just think of what Sean Payton could have dreamed up for Tebow in his prime. It would have been much more fun to watch him have a Taysom Hill trajectory and at least stick to a roster. -
Tebow is available. I think Tebow would have stuck around on practice squads and as a 3rd string QB for awhile in the NFL but it was the press attention that killed it for him. Teams just didn't want to have to answer multiple questions about a 3rd string QB or practice squad player at every single press conference. The distraction was immense.

i doubt anyone they draft outside of a rb is going to do much this season. this draft is going to be boring unless they deal for picks.

Also, just because I find it interesting how trades come back around. We selected Henningsen with the 6th round pick we acquired from the Eagles for Cary Vincent Jr.
So we traded Cary Vincent Jr for Matt Henningsen.

We literally just watched Shanahan coach up Purdy to multiple wins. There is no such thing as a QB can't immediately help in the right situation. Zappe was going around and helping the Pats. Skyler Thompson won a game to clinch a playoff berth for the Dolphins. If you like a QB, you take him and let the fans be pissed off.
Also, Davis Webb was not a very good NFL QB.Comment

I want our Center with one of the two 3rds, and either a CB or front 5 with the other.
After that I really don't care, but I REALLY want George & Payton to take a flyer on Stetson "Mailman" Bennet. That's the only QB I care about in this draft, because face it, we aren't drafting one with our day 2 picks, nor should we, but he'll be available in the 3rd day. I have no idea what Payton thinks about him, but I would guess they are looking at his tape.
I bet the 49ers are looking at his tape, and for good reason. Great story. You can say he had a lot of talent around him just like Mac Jones, or is too short, or whatever, but the kid has heart, fought for everything he has, and is a total winner. I want him.Comment
