This is not your daddy’s bungles. This team has talent, but is uneven as of late. They started 5-2, but then went 2-4, so they are regressing, and can be had.
The Broncos are getting healthy, and in turn a little better in most phases, but still has holes. Burrow is talented and has weapons, but fans blame the young coach for their problems. Like the Broncos, they tend to get a late start, but a too late finish.

Their defense is 4th against the run, but 4th(?) last against the pass. Their weakness appears to be safety play and inability to cover TE’s. Fant, Albert O, and the WR’s can find mismatches to exploit, but will Shurmur draw up a good game plan? Idk because I don’t trust him. Keep emphasizing the run, but use play action and suck those LBers & safeties up.

The Bengals average about 27 points a game, so we need to stretch the field when it’s there. Last week, there was no reason to against the Lions, but that game plan will not work this week. TBW has 3 terrific WR’s, but hasn’t used them much the last couple of weeks.

On defense, bottle up Mixon, and put Burrow in 3rd & long. Burrow has been sacked 41 times, so he either has a shit OL or he holds the ball too long. Either way, Fangio needs to mix the coverages to make Burrow hesitate. If he does, the Broncos can possibly win a close one.

Hendrickson is their strongest pass rusher and he is a question mark at this point with a hurt back. Even if he plays, broncos should see him at less than full strength and could cause him to hurt his back more, thus knocking him out of the game even if he plays. I don't expect him to be better than 80%

Cincinnati will for sure be missing their stud LB Logan Wilson due to injury. This means they should be a notch lower on defending the run too, and even worse defending the underneath from TEs and RBs or medium range crossers.

And their starting RT Reiff is questionable with an ankle. The back up Price will likely start. Look for Dremont to be able to repeatedly beat their RG while the tackle struggles with Chubb/Cooper.

On top of that Broncos will get Callahan and OJ back from IR and thusly won't be stuck counting on Fuller.

Broncos should be able to shut down Burrow and exploit the Bengals missing starter at CB too.
Bengals can get burned by Albert O or Fant underneath the safeties as they have been picked on there with no real answer to the problem yet. We will need Teddy to actually hit WRs though to keep the DBs honest.

Broncos look like they should win on paper.
Especially since they have finally started to attack with the run like they should have been doing all along having a dinker QB.

Great analysis, Coyote. Maybe we get Maleek Reed back from Covid?

For all intents and purposes, Sunday is a playoff game for the Broncos. Win and they keep hope alive.

The Denver Broncos sit at 7-6, and with 4 games remaining, will need several key players to step up and help the team's playoff push.

Dre'Mont Jones 50/50 to play against the Bengals per Fangio's presser. That would be a huge blow if he can't go.

Damn it... I totally expected him to have a day against a RG that has a Back up RT to help. Hopefully whever is in there can take advantage of that and force Burrow into sacks and throw aways etc ..

Agim is coming on as a pass rusher, But apparently struggling against the run. He was inactivated against the Lions, but should play this Sunday, I would assume.

That will suck, if he cannot play. Jones was a beast in the Detroit game.

50/50 for the biggest game of the year you play him.

The 49ers and Chargers both beat Cincinnati on the road. What can Denver try to emulate to win this critical showdown?
