  • Anyone else have a knee replacement before 60 years old?

Have an appointment to schedule a right knee replacement and wondering what to expect. Another issue I didn't have until the 3rd idiot in 12 years hit me. This one pulled out in front of me while I was driving 40 MPH and had undisputed right of way. Been dealing with this for 2 years, 2 MCL repairs and 2 different types of shots. It's gone.

Were you able to go home the same day, and did you get to move around with a walker the first week after?

    Thanks!

    Steve

I will need it but not quite there yet. I have 2 fellow athletes that have had knees done at 48 and 53 that swear by the Rd157 peptides for performance recovery after operation.

lose weight before you go in and get in the best shape of your life for a fast recovery.

sorry to hear about the accidents!

Good chance I will be in that boat also. 3 ACL, 1 MCL and cartilage damage every time. Gave up running took up cycling, much better for my knee. Unfortunately, the people I have talked to say it is one of the hardest joint replacements to recover from but once you do it feels like a brand new knee. Best of luck to you.

Hope you get better quick, space cadet.

Knees really suck to deal with if they don't work right.

Consider yourself blessed that it's not a back problem though with a 40mph head on... Knees can be replaced. I responded once to an everyone died crash at 40pmh head on hitting a tree.

I think you got about a good month before you'll be ziping around again after... Even with a walker. But it's gonna be a big difference in 6 months.

One of my buddies was overweight and hobbled about for years looking all ancient. Got a knee replacement and one year later he looked 10 years younger. Now days he zips about like he never had knee problems. And that means he lost all kinds of weight just because he's able to be more active. Worry about healing first.
ITs not a boxing match that you need to weight in for. It's a situation where you don't want to be missing any nutrition.
You'll lose weight after, don't worry about it before unless you look like a male honey booboo mom.

        My best advice...
soilder on... Otherside of the valley is there to climb out of the kaka swamp. Just gotta make it there.
Make bone broth and chicken soup with the bones cooked in it. Whatever healing is needed will take the boiled bits of soft tissue and be like "thanks dweeb, that's something I needed too".

Good luck with the knee, I hope it all goes well.

if you need someone with lots of knee experience to help you rehab, I heard about this guy named Loren Landow that might be looking for work. You should shoot him a DM.

That knee just won’t move and bend the same and you’ll walk different.

Get them to do a wiener implant at the same time. 2 for 1

              So it's that obvious?

I did. I was a powerlifter for years and a pretty good one. Several ACL surgeries. Stayed overnight in the hospital and released the next day. I was walking without crutches by day 5 post surgery. Back to work after two weeks. It’s easier than ACL recovery.

Ha! I need to gain weight if anything. 140lbs soaking wet.

            What are the Rd157 peptides?

            Thanks,

            Steve

BPC 157 Peptides or the Gastric Pentadecapeptide BPC 157 have also been found to have a promoting effect when it comes to tendon healing. Most athletes use this for very fast recovery and It will make the bad days quite easy at an older age - consult a homeopathic doc as well so you know what you can/cannot handle.

Getting rear ended in 2008 screwed up my neck, the nerve never regenerated. I was actually going to PT for my neck when the accident happened, we were making progress to. I remember seeing the idiot out of the corner of my eye yelling "NO! NO! NO!" while hitting the brake. I fell forward and was surprised the air bag was there, flopping on to it as my foot broke and went off the pedal to the firewall, then was thrown back hitting the top of my head on the drivers side back window. I had whiplash but it didn't mess up my neck and back anymore than they already were. PTSD is real BTW.

I probably would have been dead or way worse if I was in my 2002 BMW even though I had the recalls for the airbags repaired twice. The Durango I was in was totaled and I was the bigger car. I don't know how the other driver was able to walk away.

Next time an idiot does that to me I am not hitting the brakes as hard if at all. It doesn't do anything when it is that quick and all my injuries were because I had my whole body weight on the brake and the force bent my foot so far back it broke my foot and ankle in 3 places, ****ed my knee, and got a blood clot from the impact.

Still like I said could have been worse.

            Thanks for the tips.

They really should teach that all you can do is aim sometimes. Like on ice, you probably do better to speed up and aim... At least you can target the less deadly areas if you aim rather than start skidding. Sadly it usually takes someone learning that knowledge the hard way then spreading it for anyone to hear such things.

I’ve heard that it severely inhibits late night basement squatting for at least a few months.
