We need a scientist in here(not the resident NC clown) to break down the issues a body has in thin air.

we’ve always known the body reacts differently in thin air. It’s why the Olympic Games in Mexico City had the lowest performances. I’d guess there’s something to do with altitude and soft tissue damage.

So the Broncos made a positive change that should pay off with a stronger team.

Not a surprise. New coach. Its not like the some of the players wont train with him privately though. I imagine this thing is more complicated than just training protocol.

Good. Should have happened 3 years ago.

Can we bring back Luke Richesson?

Wish we would have never let him leave. But he got burned out with the Texans.

ACL injury prevention is kind of a thing but not really a thing. The most recent studies show that ACL injury prevention works fairly well in younger athletes and female athletes but doesn’t work so well for high level male athletes (NCAA Division I, professional). You can mitigate the risk a bit, but ACL injuries in elite athletes are going to occur. Looking at the chart above doesn’t tell us anything other than the Broncos have had awful luck on the ACL injury front. If anyone wants to nerd out on the most recent info let me know, I’ll send you the link.

Awesome to see this change. Hopefully the results will be immediately noticeable.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no genius when it comes to strength and conditioning, but this has to have something to do with flawed lifting or other training techniques putting abnormal stress on and wearing down the knee ligaments. Some of these injuries are going to happen regardless, but damn…that data is damning evidence of failure.

They all do the same type lifting and conditioning. They all attend the same conferences and have the same certifications. Its really much more difficult to pin point.

Apparently Garcia is the problem...heard he's the assistant to Landow?

I actually think they get someone that does what Brady was doing. A program based more on mobility and prehab.

Penner and Paton were consulting with the NFL on why so many soft tissue injuries.

i think this change has been in the works far before SP.

Which is another great indicator of our owners. These guys are taking every element of this process seriously and taking accountability.

Just canning the S&C coach isn’t going to magically make things better. They all do similar training across the league and whoever takes over will do similar things.

i think they just consider only the results and not the circumstance. we've had one of the worst run organizations in the past twenty years in the nfl and yet they don't think that bad leadership would leak into every part of the team. landow wanted huge changes supposedly and wasn't supported. hopefully its all changing and the new guy gets the top treatment.

The team having one of the largest number of injured players every season can sour the fan base. Something has got to give.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for Wolf’s take to be that Landow is a scapegoat (probably correct) and that they’ve now made 1000 terrible decisions in a row?

From what I've heard part of the problem is muscle mass. As your muscles get larger the soft connective tissue becomes stretched out, and that puts stress on it. Maybe put a focus on more gradual muscle development? Functional strength over mass? I don't know.
