  • Paton Penner and Payton just compounds the mistakes!

The defense will face marked regression under this course.

just a guy D coordinator, disgruntled stars aging and want big money….hell Justin the loser Simmons is already 30…

    no impact draft picks…

even if the offense is slightly better, the defense will be much worse.

this was an awful path forward, they should have just embraced the suck, instead they choose more purgatory of suck with a road to nowhere.

‘’Penner listened to Paton, we can fix Russ , pies into the skies.

homers here eating it all up!

so much hope, but still so much failure…

the broncos continue to make the wrong choices in an epic fail manner.

You’re so addicted to being a drama queen that you had to come up with a new angle to the “Quinn’s been the plan all along” take. I thought going after Payton was “all show” 😂

I get why Wolfe is pessimistic, but I think Payton was the best choice Penner could have made. It's going to be tough not having a first round pick again this year, but Rome wasn't built in a day. I disagree with Wolfe that the defense is ready to fall apart.

I put a vote to wolf754life only being able to start new threads once a week in off-season & twice in season.

But... it's his time to shine...

Wolfie smells kaka from far off.
Sometimes it's on his shoe. But at least he wears shoes.

After last season, I don’t blame Bronco fans for being concerned. All the hype, then they only manage 5 measly wins.

My biggest fear is that they’re giving up more picks and money in a feeble attempt to fix Russ. Doubling down on an already bad investment.

But, on the opposite, they seem completely incapable of finding a decent coach, leaving no choice but to “pay” for an already proven one.

After 6 years of VJ, Fangio, and Hackett, I’m excited to finally have a coach who knows what he’s doing. I’m cautiously optimistic that this will all workout, and hopefully we’ll look back at this moment as the turning point.

Ill hope for the best, as I can’t actively root against this team.

The world needs contrarians like Wolf. Sometimes they’re right more than they’re wrong. Fans with an unhealthy emotional attachment to the team may have a hard time swallowing the criticism, but blowing smoke doesn’t solve problems.

The psychology of sports fandom is interesting. Many see the team as an extension of themselves and the team’s performance can cause euphoria and pride, or anger and depression. Removing the emotional attachment sometimes lets you see things more clearly.

I’m not saying I agree with the original post in this thread. I just think fans need to take the criticism into account just as much as the praise. My god, we have guys on here making Super Bowl prediction threads and it’s the first week of February.

Just a question. Why in earth do you feel this decision (to hire the most qualified coach this cycle) indicates doubling down? I mean, Sean Payton has been a coveted and respected coach for years. He’s accomplished more than Harbaugh. He’s the clear number one, with or without, before and after Russell Wilson.

This defense is going to be very uninspiring under Sean Payton

It's not the contrarianism. It's not the criticism. It's the unending whininess of the bitchy drama queen that makes him insufferable.

3 former Broncos DC just now hired before Flores

                                shortbus with another woeful prediction

Desai is and has been the front runner after Vic.

Broncos will be just fine on D
