  • The Javonte Williams Dilemma

So Javonte Williams will not be ready by week 1. Likely put on IR till after week 6, if he plays at all in 2023. IMO he will never be the same. What will the plan be until then? Are they really going to start Murray week 1? That’s rough. Injuries WILL also happen at the position. So go draft? No picks until it won’t matter. FA? Hard to throw money at someone. Just a ****ed up situation.

Not hard at all to figure out. It's a great class for running backs. You draft one.

There will be terrific good players who can get starting reps into Day 3.

Nah playa, you draft 2 this year. You bring Murray back and let him help out until Williams is ready to go. If the two young pups beat him out then so be it. Trade the one who doesn't keep up for a draft pick in 1-2 years. Probably will take until week 10 for him to really get right, profit.

Why do you think he won't be ready by week 1? And there is no indicate he won't be the same player.

He tore his ACL, LCL and suffered damage to the PLC. This isn't just a normal clean cut ACL tear. Not sure about him never being the same, but it's gonna be an extended injury recovery and players are usually not quite the same the first year back.

Not a normal ACL. Other players were never the same. TD type injury. There’s no way he comes back from that week 1. They already said it would go into 2023 season

I wouldn't be against two backs, but two backs in the draft probably sends the wrong message to Javonte or the belief he can't recover and be the same player. (And I'm not sure he would be after the ACL, LCL, and PLC damage.)

If they trade 29 for Paton, they have two thirds, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth, and a seventh.

As much as I'd like to see them double-dip, I don't know if they do. Probably need to trade out of 68/69 and get another to make it happen.

payton with russell and saquon, you just gotta do it. might as well keep spending while russell is here.

i also heard he might walk today on the radio.

Barkley would give him his Kamara type RB for his offense. I just cannot see the Giants letting him walk. Even with Jones turning over a new leaf, Barkley was the engine for that offense.

I mean that’s usually the way to go….but how many picks do we have, and how many holes especially at depth do we have at other positions? RB shouldn’t be priorities in offseasons. But Murray is a sloth old RB.

they had nothing this year from the RB position. Late rounders won’t fill that year 1.

The RB class is deep. I want Gibbs so badly though. But that's a late 1st to early 2nd. Lots of talent. The really elite guys will be gone in the top 2 rounds but still good talent.

They have to pay Jones, Andrew Thomas, Dexter Lawrence. Barkley might be the odd man out.

The advances in surgery from TD days to today are huge. He may be just fine. Everyone’s body is different.

I don't think that people feel it's a TD injury for real. It's just not the normal straight up clean ACL tear.

Which is why I don't want to trade for Payton. That's the only reason I don't want to really.

Nah, Schoen already made it clear he planned to keep them both and Daboll wants them both back. They will probably front load the contracts for the two of them to give them room for Lawrence and Thomas later on. Thomas will be interesting to see, once the market gets reset after Tunsil gets his new deal.

It's smart to draft a RB that fits your system every year. They go down in droves every year.

I am all for it. Probably not good to do every year but at least every other year. But I'm RB crazy any way.

It should be a priority. They have nothing beyond an injured Javonte Williams on the roster.

Chase Edmonds is getting cut, Latavius Murray (who did well) is a FA, and nobody else in the fold matters.

Our RB depth is trash. I was fine with bringing Gordon back but felt we also should have drafted a RB and not relied on Boone. We needed quality depth and competition.
                                  We still do.

Bring Murray back cheap. Draft a guy later and sign a UDFA that looks promising. Javonte is probably cooked for next year though as 1 percent mentioned.

This is tough. Williams had a catastrophic injury. Who knows how long it will take for him to recover? Who knows if he will ever be fully recovered? I have to think it’s even worse considering he’s a running back and will be taking shots on that knee regularly.

i think they need to draft a guy and sign a guy like d'ernest. there are a bunch of interesting names that will be looking for work. bring back murray too if they want to see if he makes the team. the front office liked damarea crockett. he might be around. and that baddie dude looks interesting. they're going to have to have a swarm off dudes cause i think javonte is ****ed.
