    Underperforming Talent on Roster

Other than the absolutely obvious glaring issues at QB, who is underperforming on the roster in relation to their compensation? I want a name and support your claim:

    ———————-

My ‘Cmon Man’ goes to #14 Courtland ‘Sittin’.who has a 4 year deal and struggles to get open and get over 1,000-1,200 yards with 65-75 grabs a year (his projected production for 2022). This guy needs to step up and either play to potential or move on with his life outside of football…whatever issues he and RW3 have should have been worked out during the season. He was RW3 main target headed into the season and even if BYU didn’t as too far away for momma in Texas, we ain’t at SMU anymore. Get out the post hole digger and get to work this off-season.

He lost what little explosion he had with the knee injury. He is basically Kenny Golladay now. Dime a dozen big body WR that doesn't get seperation.

Sutton was the first one to come to mind for me. Other than that maybe Graham Glasgow? Restructured contract lowered his cap hit to only $6M this year but he suuuuuucked. And I'll never be able to get over him just walking by Risner shoving Rypien and sitting down to sip some water.

        Underperforming Players:

Courtland Sutton — Not the same post-injury and variable QB situation has limited his production as well. Way too many drops this year. Contract not moveable via cut this year due to dead money. Post June-1st trade potential, but it's basically paying him a ton to play elsewhere. Limited value. '24 he can be gotten rid of with minimal damage.

Brandon McManus — Last man standing from Denver's Super Bowl 50 run. Big leg, absolutely horrendous accuracy beyond 50 yards at ~ 55-percent. Below 79-percent accuracy overall in '22. One of the worst five kickers in the league this past year. Time to move on.

Graham Glasgow — Writing is on the wall with this guy and Denver can save $11M (vs. $3M dead) by releasing him. Was a promising FA signing, but has been plagued with injuries.

Ronald Darby — Quality player when healthy, but just hasn't ever been able to stay healthy. Financial situation of release comparable to Glasgow. Not worth keeping around on a restructure.

Russell Wilson — He sucked balls this year and that's a fact. Whether or not he can turn it around is TBD. I don't have high hopes, but think a competent coaching staff could maybe rectify some issues and get him into Top 12 (or so) QB play. Certainly not ever going to be a Top QB.

Randy Gregory — Absolute headcase who had never finished an entire season's worth of reps in his career. Everyone knew this would be a disaster signing, but the silver-lining is that '23 is the last year he will be on the team. That is unless he goes on a tear, stays healthy, and produces well. Last of guaranteed dollars (for the most part) are it.

Garett Bolles — Was never as good as his COVID-year accolades suggested. Allegedly a malcontent and poor influence overall. Will be asked to restructure, but from what I know, isn't remotely interested. It's too bad he got hurt and is still recovering. I thought Denver should consider moving on from him. If not this year, I wouldn't keep him for '24.

Won't be hard on Tim Patrick, but if he doesn't return healthy this year and do well—I'd get rid of him after this season.

FWIW, Nik Bonitto was a big disappointment as a rookie. I still think he can be a good player in the league, but he has to get bigger and learn how to set an edge.

Bolles, even though he wasn't very good this season....still better than the garbage KC rolls out at both tackle spots. If he is somehow cut etc and gets to the market....I wouldn't mind KC kicking the tires if the price is right.

Bonitto was a 2nd round draft pick as a specialized pass rusher. That's not usually a position a late 2nd round rookie makes any sort of impact right away. I think it's a mistake to ask him to get bigger and set edges. Why draft him if your plan is to turn him into an edge setter? He's a one trick pony. Let him do his one trick well.

We all know what he was good at in college. We all know he was brought in to bring pressures. But teams are going to run right at him (and they did) and will until he eventually figures it out. Bonitto's pressure rate and sack production for how much time he ended up seeing toward the latter part of the year was horrible. Like I said, I think he can be a good player, but he needs to get stronger and improve a lot. FWIW, I think they could use him in a variety of fashions across the OLB/LB spots and get some success. Doesn't always have to function outside. Can bring the heat with him on the inside too with pressure.

For me, it would be Randy Gregory.

He looked bad ass and definitely played much better and harder than both browning and chubb at the beginning of the season. However, the guy is an injury, prone ass clown that should’ve never been signed to the huge contract that he has been signed too.

I don’t believe the Broncos will see him play out his contract, because I don’t believe he will be healthy enough this year for them to consider keeping beyond this however, I could be wrong but Randy won’t prove me wrong.

I didn't include Risner in my analysis, but he hasn't improved since his rookie season and has taken a significant step back, IMHO. Cushenberry's been average at best (with a few great games) and the main draw with him was availability. Which unfortunately took a hit when he got hurt this year. It's the last year of his deal and I don't think they are in a position to get rid of him until they find an upgrade in FA or the draft. Wattenberg didn't look good at all. Hamler's damaged goods and Turner was barely healthy. Sad!

i find it hard to evaluate anyone on the offense this season after seeing how bad hackett was at his job the last two games.

Everyone on the OL. Special Teams.

The list is long and some of these guys aren’t underperforming, they are just bums. That’s why I’m against spending premium draft capital to acquire Payton.

We need more picks, spend big in FA, a new staff.

They’ve been bad for several seasons now. Not just under Hackett. We’ve gone through something like 8-10 playcallers in the last 6-7 years.

I'm a guy that's been very hard on Bolles since he was drafted, I am no fan of his but I don't know that we can move on from him this next season. That's asking a lot to revamp the OL with 4 new starters in FA and the draft.
Of course, I say that mostly due to the fact that the Broncos have barely drafted OL with 1st and 2nd round picks even going back to Shanahan.

Can't fix everything in FA and we definitely have to find a elite OL coach and pour talent into the positional pool.
