  • Minshew miss?

After we didn’t draft a QB or trade for Stafford or Rogers, I suggested Minshew.

On Schlereth’s show he mentioned the same.

You get a younger player with more upside. I really like Paton, but so far at the QB position it’s obvious he and Fangio put this season’s ‘marbles’ all on TBW. Last night was the ‘proof in the pudding’ that this was a failure.

We didn’t draft Mac Jones. As good as PS2 is, Mac Jones appears to be a better choice.

In retrospect, Minshew may have been a better choice because he’s younger. We should have known Teddy’s ceiling was quite low. He’s a stat vet, but can’t compete in big games even when you are just needing competent QB play.

The Dolphins benched Fitz and then let Tua play. Why we are so set on Teddy and won’t take a legit look elsewhere is odd.

No, he would not. Mac Jones is doing well in New England because (as much as I despise them) McDaniels and Belechick know how to use him and build game plans to his strengths. Shurmur and Fangio are pretty clueless when it comes to QB development. Mac Jones (and lets be honest, any young QB prospect) in Denver will be a failure until we get a coaching staff capable of developing QBs.

I agree that since they retained VIC...drafting Jones would have been a waste of time.

I would certainly trust Minshew in a backup role over anyone on our roster today. You can tell he still wants to be a starter. He came into the game yesterday prepared to play. He reminds me a bit of Doug Flutie.

I posted back when Minshew was available that I didn't want Denver to land him...he's pretty good and very likeable...would hate to see him in a Bronco uniform.

I don't trust anyone that comes from Vikings.. they don't know the value of QB.

Patton still doesn't get it.. he is useless

QB talent trumps bad coaching in the end. If a QB needs to develop and is raw then sure coaching has something to do with it. If you’re just a baller no matter the atmosphere you still get it done on the field.

great QBs make bad coaches look better than they are.

it’s not about the coaches would fail Jones, it’s the fact the FO didn’t think Jones would be a decent QB.

Meh. Minshew often looks good for stretches and then gets figured out and sucks. He’s limited and really not very good. But yeah, I suppose it’s possible that he’s better than Teddy.

I agree. Not the long term answer, but you get and possibly better.

He reminds me of a young Fitzpatrick.

Yes, I think he has some potential. Fitzpatrick actually does win some big games.

Haha! This FO went into the season with this QB room, and actually thought it would work. I mean, the 2 worst starting QBs last year, they get them together, thinking they’d somehow magically improve.

Then… even worse, Paton babbles on about it being harder to find a corner than a QB.

This is the pure stupidity we’re dealing with.

Gardner Minshew came out and had a big game for the Philadelphia Eagles in relief of Jalen Hurts on Sunday. Other teams should regret passing on him.

                              Minshew would’ve beat the browns.

Well said. Two of the worst QB's from last year playing for one team. Posters debating whom we should start.
                                  Patton is the culprit.

Our FO is so stupid.. Elway saying Flacco is entering his prime.

Paton had a great draft. I'm not upset about not drafting a QB, because this staff was and is ill-equipped to develop whoever was drafted. Add in Surtain is developing really well. This season was set up as a do or die for Fangio and staff. Win and stick around, or lose and be replaced. Paton allowed Vic to live and die by his choices and QB choice and hasn't undermined the coach he inherited, as his plan is to allow his hand picked staff to pick their QB rather than deal with the developmentally stunted QB Vic and his staff would have ruined.

It was a horrid QB performance, complete garbage.

The intentional grounding spike, throwing it 2 yards on a free play, another piss poor tackling attempt, just a few of Teddy’s lowlights
