By the 17th they should know if Harbaugh is leaving or not. Talk to him by zoom now, and in person if both sides are serious. Harbaugh first priority, and Payton 2nd IF the comp is reasonable, whatever that means.

Sounds good, but the absolute picks we will have to render are killing me inside

I can relate, but let’s let the process go through before we worry about stuff like that. I still like Harbaugh as #1, but just talking to Payton is a positive.

“The NFL ruled that any in-person interview can not be conducted until the 17th.”

Anyone know what the hell that is about? Why not?

WPG is not ****ing around. I am curious to know if the Quinn favorite deal fell apart due to money last season...

Idk, but isn’t that usually done in 2nd interview and they didn’t get that far because Paton hired Hackett before he left town. I would think if money was a issue, they don’t even schedule the 2nd.

              Agree..

Harbaugh should be the #1 priority. He either chose DEN or continue in Michigan.

The ****ing Saints are going to want our first and our 2 third rounders minimum. Payton will leverage full control and will command around 25 million per year on a deal well over 100m in total. Its going to be a massive commitment.

I would give up our first maximum and have Payton as HC but i want him in partnership with George Paton in a partnership deal. Payton needs to focus and devote all of his time in improving Wilson and our offense and changing the culture of the whole football team. It would be surreal if Fangio comes back as DC but he is one of the best defensive coaches alive and we get to keep our system (which Vic basically invented) and Vic also knows most of our personnel.

Get Manning for president of football operations so we can have Payton, Paton and Peyton.

                              Get me Riley or Quinn.

You HAVE talk to him. That is all this is at this point. They can’t even interview in person until the 17th. So they are still going to interview other candidates, Rooney Rule, etc. I still say they want Harbaugh first, so just talking to Payton is a positive to get another perspective.

Agree you talk to him. That said, I think the one Super Bowl point is a valid one. Payton is a good coach but he isn’t a miracle worker.

No harm in talking to him and picking his mind.

Talking to good football coaches about how they would revamp this situation or proceed forward is a smart move.

Just don't believe Payton's offensive tendencies line up with Wilson's strengths at all.
