  • Jim Harbaugh is a trending drama queen.

I didn’t think Jim would be a good fit since it’s not pretty football that fans like to see but he could be what the doctor ordered for this franchise and for Russ. He checks off the boxes for Penner.

    ✅ Culture/identity
✅ Russ won’t be relied upon much.
✅ No nonsense approach, you will do it Harbaugh’s way or hit the road.
✅ Bevell can be Russ’s OC, runs a similar offense that Michigan does.
✅ Practice won’t be light or walk throughs.

Harbaugh spoke with Irsay about the Indy job recently, so I’m assuming he wants one more run in the nfl at winning the Super Bowl.

There’s no way Harbaugh comes to Denver. Same with Payton. Those are coaches who can sit and choose the best situation….

who wants to come to a spot where the owner and GM don’t agree??

Denver is in the gutterball first year coordinator group. They didn’t even get a coordinator last time.

      Imo Pretty simple imo.

1.) Harabaugh wins a Natty goes down in Michigan lore and rides off into an NFL sunset. In which case, Papa Walmart better be willing to make him the highest paid coach of all-time and GM autonomy. Even that might not be enough.

2.) They lose to TCU or in the championship game in which case he returns to Michigan

If they can just get stupid with the money this is the guy I would target, not Sean Payton. He’s led successful turnarounds at every spot. Builds tough, physical teams. A lot of players may not love him but they’ll believe in what he’s doing and play hard for him.

While I would love that. It's not about money for Jim. He wants to be appreciated and wanted. Hell, he gave away bonuses and part of his salary from last season to give to Michigan AD employees that got their salaries cut due to COVID and etc.

Jim is a different type of dude and marches to the beat of his own drum. You are not going to control him.

I doubt any HC that really prioritizes winning a Super Bowl will sign with Denver. The big draw to this job will be the money this ownership can deliver. That's it. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see the "one-last-shot-at-glory" candidates like Payton/Harbaugh betting on overcoming KC/Mahomes, Herbert and the other threats in the AFC while inheriting this mess in Denver.

Any openings aren’t going to be great situations, that’s why they are open to begin with. In this business, it’s who you know. Hackett had zero ties to anyone in Denver prior to this season. That’s why he was an easy fire.

I’m assuming that Condi Rice has a lot of pull or has Penner’s ear. She’s got a direct line to Harbaugh, as they go all the way back to their Stanford days and she has visited him at Michigan a few times. I just read a story that Condi has recruited for Harbaugh whenever he asked.

He’s a great DC, just don’t let him be the HC.

Wasn't he basically all in on Minnesota last offseason though... until the offer wasn't what he wanted?

Can't see what makes us so fundamentally different a scenario.

                          Perna lurks here.
Albright lurks but he's probably butt hurt by now with this place and acting like a dramatic middle school girl.
                          Stevens definitely lurks here.

He was all in on getting that job because the GM opened the door and wanted him but ownership said no. The GM felt he would help Cousins thrive and get them over the hump.

How much is he pulling in at Michigan? I'm guessing Vikings low balled him since they are only paying 2.5 to O'Connell.

A little bit over $7M annually.

He (Harbaugh) seems like the kind of guy that could rebuild the team and, as I've said elsewhere, he dealt with Kap who was a moron with a cannon for an arm. He could probably install an Offense that Wilson could run. He also would not be walking into a situation where the GM has all the power in the organization. He'd at least be an equal in the FO if not the dominant voice directly under the CEO. So it's not as bad a fit as you might imagine.

Can he at least organize a group of overpaid dipchits to coach the basic fundamentals of the game? If so, sign me up to petition his ass to Denver.

KC and SD are beatable. They have weaknesses. But the Broncos have been so shitty for so long that they can't really exploit them.

                                      This is from last February:

Various insiders close to the Michigan program were reporting that Harbaugh was going into this interview prepared to accept the Vikings' offer and believing the job was his. New Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who overlapped with Harbaugh for two years in the 49ers organization, apparently wanted him to be the hire. The hurdle to clear was getting Vikings ownership and other executives in the search committee on board, but it didn't seem like that was going to be an issue.

Harbaugh was only making about 4.05 mil when he interviewed for the Vikings job. Michigan forced him to take a pay cut after the COVID season.

No, this was after the Covid season where Michigan went 2-4. He hadn't beaten OSU and fans wanted his head on a pike.
He was either taking the pay cut or Michigan was going after Sean Payton.

Belichick makes 20 million annually. If Daddy Wal-Mart surpasses that number Harabaugh will be practicing his Let's Ride in front of a green screen.
