I don’t disagree, but again, “not ready” isn’t a good sell if he plans to interview for HC jobs after this season.

Evero will get a HC job somewhere. Coaches who aren't ready get hired all the time (at least by Denver...) I'm not sure he will have great success because he was riding on the coat tails of the Rams championship defense and came to Denver which already had a good defense. If he goes somewhere like Indy that doesn't have a great defense, he will struggle.

Just my opinion of course, I don’t think he’s “afraid.”

The problem with this hypothetical is that you used the word “afraid.” I don’t think Evero is acting “afraid.” Jumping into a messy situation with an offense seemingly beyond repair, and approaching two playoff bound division rivals? I’d say it is a pretty savvy career decision not to take those two big losses to your next contract negotiation.

it was a mistake…what better way to learn for a future HC interview? It’s gifting 2 games to get his feet wet going into interviews.
If he took the interim and I’m interviewing him for my team the first question would be “how did you approach the lockerroom once Hackett was fired?”

Evero just watched firsthand as a guy went way over his own head into a job he wasn't prepared for and is personally dealing with the fallout.
I don't think it's ridiculous at all to not want the opportunity, or to think that any scrutiny whatsoever– regardless of how fair or deserved it is– might hinder future prospects of being a head coach here or somewhere else.
