    Paton has turned denver into the worst team in sports

    Look at this embarrassing shit.





    players fighting with each other. Not even forcing one punt. Wilson shitting all over the field. 50+ on Christmas. Not one player on this team is worth keeping other than Surtain, and only cause he’s on a rookie contract. In 2 years Paton has turned the roster into complete trash. FAs have been predictably shitty. Draft picks are trash. Blows draft capital.


    No one worse than Paton. McDaniels as a GM was better.

    No accountability either. You cut a guy like Risner for doing that. You can't have your OL pushing your QBs. Hack has been buddy buddy too much and never required accountability.

      Hackett is a joke. The fact they are entertaining the thought of keeping him and Paton just shows this team won’t see above 500 for years. Decades maybe. I could see them not hitting 10 wins until 2030 or so.

        Risner should be cut. He plays like a bitch and then shoves the 210 pound backup QB. He won't be though because Hackett is a beta buddy who wants to be friends with every player.

                The problem with getting out the torches and pitchforks for Paton is that it is really based on two decisions:

                1) signing Hackett as the Head Coach
                2) trading for Wilson as the QB

                As for number one I never wanted Hackett. I had specifically said (on another board) that I did not want the OC of an elite or HOF QB as the next HC. I didn't believe that any of them in general had proven anything and I didn't see anything on Hackett's resume in particular that would make him ready to be a Head Coach. Honestly? I would have picked KC's Toub or Baltimore's Roman over Hackett and that decision would not have been a close one.

                As for number two, Wilson was the QB I wanted if we were able to trade for a high value vet. I thought he'd do great with what we already had on Offense and I thought he'd make Hackett (and everyone else) look better while he was here. So did a lot of you. As I recall Bronco fans everywhere were incredibly excited about our team when we signed Wilson.

                So, no, I don't agree that now is the time for me to shit all over Paton when he's 1/2 of doing exactly what I would have done if it were possible. All of you who knew that Wilson was going to suck so much ass go ahead and quote your off season hot takes in this thread.

                  There was only one poster I saw. Bronco69 I believe. Everyone else including me loved the deal.

                Gee we have said for a while now that the Oline must be rebuilt. The bad QB play and bad Oline play came to a boiling point yesterday mostly for the defense to say enough is enough.

                Hendon Hooker is my solution to this mess. it allows a rebuild to start. it won’t cost a 1st round pick. the GM can get him and a nice Olineman. Russ is here for 2023 anyways. trying to salvage Russ js a losing proposition . Hooker can come in mid season.

                the Oline is where the real rebuild begins next year. it has to be.

                maybe try and sign and trade Dremont.

                    i think Rypien went up to the oline and said pick your QB up after a sack. i guess they all walked away.

                    problem is the oline has to be frustrated if they thought Wilson held onto the ball too long which he has done all season.

                    how many times have we yelled at the TV or in the stands throw the ball and turns into a sack.

                    oddly both Wilson and Risner are stealing money from the team but i can see the frustration from the oline in some situtations.

                    the Oline needs a reboot.

                      I saw an article where some guy is saying that Rypien was bitching at the O-Line for not doing a better job of protecting Wilson after a sack. Risner got upset and argued with him, then shoved him and, apparently, challenged him to a fight with the words "what are you going to do about it" while being overly aggressive. Then Murray stepped in and shoved Risner to get him to knock it off.

                        Our O-line is garbage and has been garbage for a while because the team won't invest in it.

                            Paton needs to be fired. What we saw yesterday is the culmination of half a decade of ****ery within the franchise, which includes a failed GM Elway selecting his own replacement GM who has also failed.

                            Pat was diminished and didn't have a viable succession plan for the team. Wormtongue Ellis along with the shady trust were acting as a defacto ownership group and yesterday was the coup de grace of that dysfunctional reality. Penner-Walton can choose to start the gut and rebuild now, or let it fester for yet another year as the team continues to find new lows like yesterday. If they retain Paton, I won't be around next year to watch it.

                              Why wait for 2 weeks? You need a GM in place to hire a new HC. That GM needs time to formulate a plan and interview coaches.


                              which means time now is being wasted away.

                              this is why I believe Paton is safe. This clown will choose either hackett or make another dumbass decision choosing a new coach.


                              Paton chooses hackett over O’Connell etc and he gets to choose the next one. Typical bronco shit.

                                  Not that you can believe everything coming out of HQ right now, but our CEO Penner just basically said that he fired the coach and that he's going to find a new one with input from the ownership group and Paton.

                                    Right. He basically did the GM’s job (fired the head coach) and will continue to do the GM’s job (hire the new coach). If you’re the GM in this situation, you’re keeping your realtor’s phone number handy.
