Mike Leach
Just heard that Mike Leach is in the hospital, possibly in critical condition though there’s no confirmation of how bad it is. Lots of rumors flying around, Coach could use some thoughts and prayers.

Sucks, the Pirate of the plains (when he was at Tech) was a character, he gave some of the most interesting press conferences. He will be missed but probably not by DB's. Air Raid!Comment

Much is being made of Leach finishing with a .596 career winning percentage, which is .04 short of the College Football Hall of Fame's minimum requirement of .600 for a coach.
I think having a rigid rule is dumb.
Obviously, much is going to be made of Leach's contributions as an innovator and rightfully so, but I think his record of 158-107 was outstanding considering none of the blue bloods ever gave him a chance. That's a great record when you consider he was coaching at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State. And his record got dinged at Washington State taking over a program that was at rock bottom after going 9-40 under Paul Wulff.Comment
