Yep. We got osweiler’d x10. Russ set the team back half a decade and we’re stuck with him.

It can be. We have sucked for 7 seasons and this debacle might mean at least 2 more but the 60s were worse. I have been a fan since 1977 so in that time, this is by far the worse....but that wasn't the poll question.

You guys are so bad they are going to flex the game against the Chiefs out of the good slot. You are so bad they don't want Mahomes to be in prime time.

1990 was bad......1999 was worse. 2017-2022 is the worst. 2022 is the worst of the worst

Chefs should just sit Mahomes for the Broncos games, or at least pull him after he scores 14 points.

They might. I never really know how to feel about that. Maybe run out a few possessions.

But was a lot expected from the team back in the 60s?

After awhile, you expect to get better. From 1960-1972, we had 1 .500 record. Then were worse or the same for 3 straight seasons after that. You go 7-7, you have some hope. Anyone thinking this is the lowest point, have not looked at those first 12 seasons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...roncos_seasons

I'm not from Denver and I wasn't alive for the founding of the AFL. as a kid I didn't really start to notice football until the 85 season for the first time, so I can't say I was around and knew the team, the town or the times...but I would think, considering how different the sports landscape was, and how different Denver (much smaller city then) was....that the 60's and early 70's was bad and probably saw some times when it was dangerously close to having no pro team in Denver. The team was just sold for 6 billion dollars. Despite sucking ass on the field, it's a healthy, stable franchise.

The 2010 team was also 3-8 at this point, but with Von Miller on the way. This is the worst the team has looked in the last 50 years.

Once you factor in the trade for Wilson- yes. If we played lock it would be easier to accept the suck. New ownership and a new coach to get worse and pay a quarter of a billion dollars and draft picks- definitely rock bottom

2010 was dark times for sure, but like you say, we were destined for a high pick (#2) and McDoucher was gone. And I’ll also add that pre-Alzheimers Pat Bowlen was still the owner.

What makes this time period different IMO is the total lack of any hope on the horizon. We can’t even use Hackett as our tank commander since Seattle has our 1st and 2nd rounders. 🤦🏼‍♂️ And we just signed a QB to a huge extension who is playing like utter garbage and might incredibly be already washed up at age 33. So fire Hackett sure, but there is still the Wilson problem. His extension makes it impossible to move on, and is a total cap killer for an evidently non-franchise QB with huge dead money hits were we to actually part ways. His contract is why Chubb is gone and why guys like Sutton probably will be soon too.

And fair or not, we don’t really know what to expect yet from the new owners. Are they going to have the same standards and commitment to winning that Pat Bowlen had? Or is this really just a side business for them? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Pat was truly one of a kind, and Elway, for all his flaws as a GM, truly cared about this franchise and honoring the Bowlen legacy. But they’re both gone now - do the new guys?

Frankly, we’ve gotten a little spoiled over the years by having one of the best owners in sports and two HOF QBs in Elway and Manning. And say what you want about some of his GM moves, but Mike Shanahan was a helluva coach too. Even the John Fox hire in 2011 was “not too shabby”. 👍🏻 (I mean, we all joke about that, but after the VJ / Fangio / Hackett 💩show, a coach of Fox’s caliber would be a huge step up! 🤷🏼‍♂️)

I’m trying to find something to be excited about within the next 2-3 years, but gosh, I’m having a hard time doing it, guys. BEST case scenario IMHO is that Hackett really is as in over his head as it seems, and we can bring in someone new next year to help Wilson and the offense get back on track. Maybe that plus some better injury luck would turn things around. But I’m not gonna hold my breath. Hackett aside, our roster just may not be good enough. Wilson needs some help and players around him to be successful, but he’s been taking quite a beating. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The good news is my Sundays are free now but I need a new golf bag because it’s embarrassing rocking a bronco bag in public. I would rather wear a Biden/Harris shirt.

You don’t even know the half of it. Be glad you’re in SoCal. I’m up in Seahawks country. They’re enjoying fleecing us on the Wilson trade way too much. 🤦🏼‍♂️

yeah it’s hard knowing we got fleeced but it’s karma for the colts trade in 83

And in a sick and twisted karmic turn of events, the QB we wound up with this time also had an opportunity to play baseball, but really effed us by not doing so. In addition to avoiding the current suckage, we probably win SB 48 if Wilson chooses baseball over football. 🤦🏼‍♂️

                                    Pre-merger era (1960-1970) doesn't really count.

Post 1970? Yeah, this is probably the worst stretch the franchise has had. And this team (2022) in particular is likely the absolute worst, especially given the pre-season expectations.

Dark, dark days for the Denver Broncos, my friends.

If you consider the QB we have and his contract then yes this is the worst I can ever remember it and I've been around for donkeys, since John Elway turned me into a Bronco in 83. I never expected anything from Tebow, Osweiler, Simien or Lock, I expected massive things from Russell. I think most will agree with me that the great Bronco teams always had good to excellent offensive line, built to enhance a running game that controlled the ball. For me this is the worst OL I've ever seen here, whether it's lack of talent or poor coaching or a combination I've no idea but lines down the years helped make the likes of decent players stars like Mike Anderson, Orlandis Gary, Clinton Portis, CJ, Moreno and off course the best ever TD. The Broncos haven't controlled games with a running game in a long long time. It's now 6 seasons since we've had a winning season and that is the longest run in the team's history since we set foot in the NFL. In 4 seasons with Peyton Manning the Broncos only lost 14 regular season games, Wilson is in danger of equalling that in 1 season.

First 10 years were the lowest. This franchise is rapidly approaching that territory. If no improvement in the next three years, then yes, worst era in team history.

It certainly feels like the worst, mainly because of expectations before the season started.

I'm 44 and been a fan for 38 years. This is the worst team in my lifetime. Worse than 2010. Worse than head coach Wade.

What makes this season so bad is the lack of hope due to the salary cap situation and loss of draft picks. It's tanking without the rewards of shedding salary and moving up in the draft.
