  • Why Hackett is still calling plays?

You are making tough for yourself and the entire team and fans.
For god's sake..give up your playcalling to someone else.

Try something different.. Why is Paton allowing it happen?

Wilson is struggling so Hackett does this :

gameplan on first drive is to make him throw 5 out of 6 plays resulting in a horrible punt.

    next drive :

make him pass 3 of the 4 plays resulting in a horrible punt. Which play got the most yards? The one run play of 7 yards.

I don't see any flow to the game.. no running game.

Virgil caught one pass and that's it..he is no more to be seen.. Same with Hamler..he gets one or 2 passes a game.
I still believe Albert O is a good weapon. we don't even use him.

If the coach is struggling, as a GM you should tell him clearly. Klint Kubiak should be calling plays. try something different.

If he gives up play calling it won’t save his job so he would rather get fired on his terms.

The dudes a clown, don’t even try to make sense of anything he does.

Why even stress at this point? Just count the days until the end of the season and he’s fired.

If he gave up play calling at this point, what would he be doing exactly? We hired someone to manage gameday operations or whatever.. like he would call timeouts and throw challenge flags?

Flow? the first three games we couldn't get plays in, to this day we have penalty after penalty to be most in the league. We can't do basic things well.

ah shit- quoted the wrong post. this offense sucks tho...

What makes this even worse is the fact there is no short passing game. Everything is being looked downfield on low percentage passes, made even more worse by the fact that the OL is sporting 3 backups, and we're waiting for plays to develop downfield. Just ridiculous.

The gameplanning and playcalling is as bad as I've seen in all the years watching football. It's like playing football in the park when I was a kid; just go out and try to get open. No flow or sophistication with this offense whatsoever.

Whatever makes us win games..at this point, it's not working.

3rd and short..instead of aiming for first down, just throwing the ball for 10+ yards.

Forget how bad the offense has been, it was something he said in post game presser about missing some major action on defense because he was too busy getting ready for the next drive. I find that problematic and Paton absolutely has the right to tell him to give up playcalling because he can't handle it and overseeing the entire team at the same time. As mentioned, arrogance is the driver here. He didn't call plays in GB so he wants to do it here. His priorities are out of whack as a first time HC.

The worst is when they go empty set. I’ve yet to see it result in anything positive all year. Usually ends in a sack because the line sucks, Wilson sucks & coaching sucks.

I was thinking about this Sunday when the Bills should have taken a safety at the end of the game, backed up to their goal line. McDermott missed it, Hacker would have not had a clue.. but then I thought Andy Reid, or Bill Bilichick would have probably thought that through, and the Bills may have gotten a W instead of the L.

Having wet behind the ears, rookie HC learning on the job is pretty bad. Got me thinking, how many wins a year do excellent HC's account for just by their decisions making/ experience?

Some of the comments above reminded me of when Sirianni handed play calling duties off to Steichen last year in Philadelphia. That said, Hackett has a worthless OC so maybe wouldn’t work as well!

yep need a play caller who’s only job is the offense 24/7. no game management , no defense no ST

                                    just offense

it’s not that hard to fix unless the HC’s ego is above the team.

the goal is middle of the pack on offense

No, he's not efficient at either of those things. My guess is he would be relegated to laundry duty.

Just a happy clapping seal on the sidelines, encouraging players who tuned him out a month ago.
