yeah there is a benefit to giving the DC more experience as the head coach. Would be 1/2 a year without so much stress. How much are the broncos going to have to pay out on Hack's contract if they let him go now?

At this point, Wilson should retire or be made to play as a RB until he gets squished.

I know we’ve all heard the saying “don’t listen to what they say, but watch what they do”. Penner is not happy at all with this, at least that’s the word around Denver anyway and I believe somethings going to happen real soon here.

Everyone is freaking out about the draft compensation but that is only a year and a half and Paton has the ability to nullify that with good drafts. The contract extension was not necessary and locks Denver in for 3 more years. What good coaching candidate will want to come here knowing he has Russ as his QB.

Payton I bet does not WANT this job. Denver is now back to who to coach next year. The next hot shot.

Had Wilson still been on his orig contract the team could walk away.

Wow, that’s incredible. You have to wonder if rolling out Drew Lock would have yielded a winning record at this point. That’s hard to swallow, that it would probably be the case.

I just don’t get Wilson always looking for 30-40 yard bombers when your biggest issues is constant 3rd and long, moving the chains, and pass protection issues. This offense should be screening and slanting a bulk of their plays, if they’re gonna pass.

it’s comical at this point.

Hackett deserves another year!!! It’s not a surprise the one aspect Hackett doesn’t have control is doing well.

the fact they didn’t fire him at the bye means firings all around at years end.

Paton shouldn’t be allowed another HC choice, FA and draft.

about the punter..he cut Sam martin as he was asking 1 Million. Homers as usual thought Paton is genious as we saved few hundred thousand dollars.

We were all bitching the last few years about opposing punters having career days while Martin was just being a JAG. I have no problems going with the cheap option.

I would say that since this team has no offensive strategy to speak of except go 3 and out, maybe they should spend that 1st round pick on a punter.
