Also, I think that Paton did a great job trading BC to a "good" team. He's done a really good job of trading players to competitive teams where they actually want to play. Another great trade by Paton.

I have a couple thoughts on this.

#1 Our D is playing at a high level and with the way this year has been going we are still very much in the hunt for playoffs. I really don't hope this turns out to be a stick in the spokes for our D.

#2 This trade could turn out to be very good for both teams. If Chubb can stay healthy he could be an elite player in this league and we need picks in a bad bad way .

#3 I hope we use this Pick to trade down and get a couple O-line men.

Please explain ? Getting a first + other things for Chubb is a great deal for us. We have plenty of up and coming play makers on D and Chubb wasn't going to be here next year anyways.

I agree - after watching Chubb develop, I'm glad we got a 1st+ for him. He's a class act but we need to spread the wealth around since going ape-shit on pass rushers since 2015.

It goes without saying that you never look at the "business" of football, but Chubb is about to cash in with a big contract. Would you rather spend 90M building the offense, or keep another pass rusher?

We need to score points, and Paton is still on the right track to go get us there.

We won't understand how "good" or "bad" this is until we see the new contract, and we see how this first round pick shakes out - but Paton is doing an amazing job with resources again.

Most likely Chubb is injured before he plays 16 games for the fins. The bad news is Gregory will be injured also.

Can't believe we got a first round pick for him. He seemed more like a 2nd round pick.
