  • High school offense

Sorry to be the Debbie downer today folks but I just wanna say don’t celebrate too hard because what we saw out there today in the second half was a simplified high school offense. If this is the kind of offense that we are going to run to win games, then we may as well go back out and find Johnny football or Tim Tebow. Don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating for Johnny football or Tebow at all I’m just saying Russell Wilson is not the guy we think he is.

George Paton gave up so much for him without doing his diligence and that is why so many folks in Broncos’s country want him dismissed.

He made a good throw to hamler to help us win the game

    that’s good enough for now

just enjoy the win... with so many playmakers we should not be 3-5?

let's see how we will go from here..

Highly skilled players will whip your ass using basic plays. What PFM used to do wasn't complicated at all. It just required excellence in execution. If our guys can only do Harry High School bullshit then let them do it, just have them do it well.

If High School plays get them over 20 points, then do it

Well the point is that it can only last for so long but PFM could always read a defense and know exactly how to take them apart. Russ can’t do such a thing!

You can win with a simple playbook, it’s about understanding game situation, diagnosing the defense and executing the play. Every coach knows the plays that beat every coverage shell

I remember when Shanahan/Gibbs were running their zone blocking system. Everybody knew it was coming. Nobody could stop it.

Well the announcers mentioned it over and over so I think everyone is aware. That being said Johnny Football I see quite a bit enjoying himself in Scottsdale and good luck getting him off the course. He is getting pretty good at golf.

this is Paul Hackett's offense. It's so old, not even high schools run it anymore.

add in the penalties issues every week, and this coaching staff would be barely qualified to coach youth football.

Turn on the 97 Divisional playoff game that Denver went into KC and punched them in the queef. Paul Hackett was running to offense for KC so that is probably what Hack is shooting for. Rotating RB and bad fake Punt/FG(i forget what it was).

The commentator that kept saying it was Dan Orlavsky so there's that. He didn't even know where the boundary lines were when he was playing as a backup.

It aint rocket science that almost had wilson win the mvp less than 24 months ago.

They started running Hamler down the field today. It really helped. I would like to get Washington and Hamler going deep, put JJ in the slot and tell Sutton to shape up . What is wrong with Sutton. I don't care how basic the plays are , if we scoring points I'm fine with that.

It's when plays get too complicated that you get dudes running the wrong routes or throwing to the wrong spot.

"Dumb it down, use your QB's skill set and win" sounds better than "keep watching open guys that the QB don't see because he a hobbit".

It’s telling that Rodgers is struggling as well.

RW3 just playing slow and cautious…it’s killing us but should start to yield something by now/moving forward.

I do think Lock would have had a huge game yesterday running this offense.

It could be said that the Eagles offense resembles a high school offense in some ways.

Honestly I'd like to see more of what they do than less.

Agree completely. **** Orlovsky. Moving the ball, getting first downs, and punching it into the end zone is what "good offense" is all about. The route trees, plays, etc. are all fine as long as guys are getting open and you are getting them the ball.

Our offense changed (for the better) when Glascow came in at Center. We have had soooooo many plays blown up with simple stunts and twists against our C-G combinations during the first half off the season. Maybe Glascow can slow the bloodletting and give Russ a chance to break free and make plays.

I'm 100% optimistic about the leap we took yesterday. THIS is the hill I die on with Hackett - does he recognize the organizational success that just happened and can he repeat it? Start Glascow at Center. Get Jeudy in open space. Feed Dulcich until someone can stop him. Hit Hamler deep. If they can build a little confidence there, we can start seeing more of the pulls and traps that they were installing in the preseason run game. Then, we have the chance to get on a second half win streak.

If fixing the line fixes the team, it'll be awesome, but the alarming number of 3 and outs needs to end as well. Was really worried about the defense being too gassed to finish the game yesterday. I know we can't score on every possession, but get at least one first down before you punt.

Against the Seahawks and Texans they were moving the ball quite well but then sputtering in the red zone. Let's see if they can put it all together in the second half.

6 weeks ago the home crowd was counting down the play clock as a joke….

keep it simple, do it well. Once you can do that, add on layers.

That's what a base inability to run the ball will usually look like unfortunately.
