JJ never living up to the hype. Bad coaching and QB play will make many look like a bust.

If we can get some picks back, the trades will be worth it for our future.

I can’t afford to trade my hammer…too many girls depend on my carpanty skills. 😂

midseasin trades can be lucrative but I doubt we see value in these guys. If we got a good RT and TE and WR2 - that would be $$$

        I’m with it,
we need to just accept the Wilson trade might be the worst trade in nfl history

gut the team, collect some picks
tank the 2023 season. Then fire hackett and draft Caleb Williams from USC. And we’re back baby!

Remember when the Lions wanted the Broncos to package Jeudy into a deal for Stafford? And the Broncos said “NO”…

Teams that mortgage the future for the franchise QB aren’t supposed to go into rebuild mode week 7.

Bradley Chubb - 2nd and 3rd round picks
Jerry Jeudy - 3rd or 4th round pick
          Hamler - 4th round pick

If they lose today I suspect 2 of the 3 will be on their way out of town. Sad thing is, Jeudy and Hamler are both getting open and Wilson can't get them the ball. The scheme isn't horrible... players getting open a lot. Russell doesn't see it and is obviously not very comfortable in the scheme. Not sure this is something where more time fixes the issue or if you just need a more player friendly scheme?

Bottom line, they have to find a way to make it work with Wilson. They can't just walk away from him... not with the next 4 years (on top of this year) fully guaranteed with about $175m on the books.

How can you cut Wilson? With nearly $150m fully guaranteed and immediately hitting the cap?

In a dream world the Seahawks trade back our 1st for Jeudy and Chubb.

Almost a virtual certainty none of those guys want to be in Denver long-term. An ass beating by the Jets today accelerates the situation and makes trades much more likely.

They’re not on the “trading block”. They’re just the only marketable, tradable assets the Broncos have which other teams are inquiring about.

Rumor is that Chubb will net a first rounder... if that is the case you've gotta make the deal. Even if we win the next two. We need to fix the OL in the worst way and paying Chubb on an extension should not be a priority when you have a long term commitment to Gregory and young guys to take the role once Chubb departs.

update- I just read that the Panthers turned down two first round picks for Brian Burns. Teams are looking for edge rushers. Burns is in line for a long term extension similar to Chubb though Chubb is in his 5th year and Burns is in his 4th. Still, if Burns is getting two firsts I definitely see a scenario where Chubb could bring in at least one first round pick. Time to get on the horn with the Eagles and make a deal!

What people believe the Broncos will get in return for Chubb (or anyone) is pure speculation.

A first for Chubb is a no brainer. It’s likely from a strong team, so late first.

Then draft night dump the first for more picks and a first rounder next year. Then we’re back!

You be dreaming... turning a late first into multiple picks to get us back? Back to where, the same place we sit today with Wilson.

No one is sending a first for a half season rental.

We drop the next 2 to go 2-6. I expect Paton to make numerous deals. I like Chubb and he could easily go off this year and get 13-17 sacks and go to the pro bowl. The problem is he has missed too much time and had multiple surgeries in previous seasons i dont think we can give him 25m per with huge guarantees on a long term deal. He also despite having a very good start to the season was anonymous in the Raiders and Chargers games on the road. I would take two 2nd round picks for Chubb.

I would rather pay Surtain on his next deal 25m plus a year with some big guarantees because he has HOF potential. Surtain is on different a level to Chubb and we cant keep both and also rebuild our Oline. I expect Paton to go big at G and C in free agency because Risner and Cush are killing us with inside pressure and Wilson at 5-10 needs stout pass pro inside similar to Drew Brees. New Orleans would always have some of the best guards in football and it allowed the 5-10 QB Brees to have clean pockets and allow him to see downfield.

I would also dangle Dremont Jones for a 3rd rounder. I think he will get overpaid if he hits free agency. I like him to be resigned for 10m to 12m per maximum but he could get something crazy in free agency. I dont think he is worth more than 10m per. We should look to get a 6th rounder for Albert O because we dont have one. Hamler and Jeudy still are on their rookie deals so i hope Paton will only deal if he gets something crazy. I would want a 1st to deal Jeudy or a two 2nd rounders. He will go off in a stable offense with a great playcaller.

Chubb isn’t worth a first. I’d take it in a heartbeat, but it’s not going to happen.

Yes but Paton is definitely the source of the information to Schefter. He wants to put the league on notice that we have some premium young talent available for the right price. No way Paton goes in to the next 2 drafts without recouping some of the 1st and 2nd rounders we lost in the RW deal.

DON'T EVER MAKE PATON TOUCH THIS TEAM.EVER..

He already ruined the team and set the franchise back.

I can think of one guy on the roster who would potentially net a first round pick in a trade and he’s not going anywhere.

Chubb, JJ, Hamler…. Not a chance.

[email protected] Chubb netting a 1st in an expiring rookie contract. Maybe a late 2nd from a contender. Jeudy = 3rd. Hamler = 5th and 6th.

The teams calling for Chubb probably don't have a 1st or are projected to have a late 1st. So I don't think it's out of the possibility that a GM getting ready for the playoffs sends a late 1st for Chubb considering he's only 26 years old.

Like I said in my thread. Dump Chubb and Jeudy before the deadline.

Monumental failure if that doesn’t happen cause both won’t be broncos much longer and they’ll have zip all in return…wait for the comp picks?

no way Chubb brings a 1st. 2nd is optimistic. chubb will demand huge money in a market that will be over priced with multiple FAs driving pass rush price up. Burns will get a record contract lifting all others.

if Paton isn’t planning on dumping money into Chubb and jeudy there’s zero reasons not to trade them both.

This doesn’t come without consequence though. If they sell pieces, that means Hackett is safe for another year. If they keep pieces hackett has no excuse to suck.
