  • OT: Official 2022-23 Denver Nuggets/NBA Season Thread

    Any hoop fans here?
NBA has always been my second favorite sport followed by NFL football.

I’m a diehard Washington wizards fan. That’s where the name agent zero comes from (If you know, you know). I’ve liked them since I was a boy and my dad would take me to wizards games in DC. I think we have an underrated team this year. We’re off to a 2-0 start. Then again we started 2-0 last year and didn’t do anything. It’s a long season

Anyway let’s gets some hoops talk started. Who are your favorites to make the finals? Looking like a potential warriors - Celtics repeat to me. But my sleeper team this year is the Knicks (at least make playoffs). I told everyone and their moms to bet Knicks over win total for season. I love the Brunson addition and thibs is a good coach

Nuggets on a serious roll right now. 17 of 20. This is the best Nuggets team I've ever watched. They may finally be actual contenders.

DomCasual should move this thread to the main board. It obviously gets no action here.

I’m pretty torn! Lived in Memphis for about five years - love the Grizzlies! Will be cheering for Nuggets against everyone else. A championship for Memphis would be celebrated for a decade there 🤣.

I’d buy a pair of the new Ja Morants. But man are they ugly. A middle aged white dude in Denver trying to keep it in line can probably pull off some Penny’s but no way can I pull off those new Ja’s.

Yea, the Grizzlies are on a roll too. It will probably come down to, as it often does in the NBA, to which stars are healthy later in the year.

Jokic triple-double in the win over the Blazers .....

              34 pts
              12 rebs
              10 asst

Aaron Gordon has really been a smash addition ... plus Murray's back, MPJ seems more level-headed, everything's clicking.

KCP and Bruce Brown have been seamless perfect additions. Never thought I would see a Nugs team lead the NBA in 3 point %.

Yeah, we're officially bandwagon-ed in. I haven't watched this much regular season pro basketball since I was a kid.

You know it's a good year when you look like shit with foul trouble and you still mark down the W at the end.

Offense was a broken mess and they still score 120+. Murray showed again he’s one of the most clutch players in the sport. Jokic didn’t have the touch tonight and still shoots 60% from the field. This is the first truly great Nuggets team I’ve seen.

Yeah, he wasn't really Mr. Smooth tonight - but still, I think his 5th triple-double in the last seven games.

Their last lead came with 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter ... then bide bide bide their time while Jokic sits, working off the clock and all those nutball fouls. Finally they load up again, and take their next (and final) lead with just 1 minute to play.

I hate to throw cold water on things, but when Joker sits, we look like a mediocre high school squad. Twice tonight we went l-o-n-g stretches without scoring a single point - outscored 9-0 once, and another even more. Malone's gotta get it in gear if we're gonna make a deep playoff run. We need to develop and practice a more structured offensive game plan for potential stretches without Jokic.

It looks better when they pair Bones + Murray together in those minutes, that wasn’t the case on Wednesday though.
