I don't disagree, but frankly that issue goes FAR beyond acceptance in commercials. We accept "anything goes" from food producers/ manufacturers to marketing to children in the pursuit of profit (or produce cheap food)... so as a society we really don't care about the problem, and politically we can't do anything about it anyway. Look at Michelle's lunch initiative... lol.... people lost their ****ing minds! when she wanted to kid to get good food, not sugary processed trash. Imagine conservative America if we even suggested limiting marketing of garbage food to kids... they'd flip their ever loving shit screaming censorship!

We're a gluttonous society. Its kind of fitting our commercials would celebrate/ normalize that.

Car insurance definitely rules cable advertising, has for a long time. I recall in 2007-08, Geico had three major ad campaigns running simultaneously: The Caveman ads, the various celebrities speaking for regular people, and the annoying little gekko.

Gotta believe their massive ad buys kinda spoil rates for the rest of us, right?

I think the most annoying one right now is the gecko wailing about a flat tire.. I'll mute that one every time. The Allstate "mayhem" ones and the Peyton/Brad Paisley ones are the least annoying insurance ads. But definitely the LiMu emu and the Geico gecko are the worst. Oh, and the Gronk trying to get USAA is lame too.

My ole lady cannot stand the womans voice in the pro enamel commercials. It doesn’t bother me but she says the dentist lady sounds like she’s drunk and slurring her speech.

Commercials were better when the beer companies were battling for the ad dollars. They did humor a lot better then the insurance industry.

I agree with the idea here about the woke commercials. Not a big fan Amazon commericials that show a young black woman as a princess in a mideval castle who orders some amazon stuff and becomes a successful hair salon owner. The overall premise is fine...I'm all for people starting a business and having success...but there were no black princesses in mideval europe....would it be so wrong to simply show her as a princess in Africa? Would they show a white girl as a native american squa with the same theme? The only reason to do things this way is to pander to people who might complain about a white princess. It seems like everyone is going out their way to make sure anyone that isn't white are way over represented for the sake of wokeness. ....

Also..when they do portray a white male....he's almost always some dumbass who only by the guidance of his smarter female companion or minority friends, does he learn to choose a better product/service etc. He's too dumb to figure it out on his own and only by enlightment by non white males, does he stand a chance to improve his life.

and lastly....there plenty of studies that show over, and over and over and over and over again, that ALL people of all genders, races, ages etc...like to look at young attractive women.....and will pay attention to them.

You put on an ATT commercial with Lilly, and I'll watch and listen to everything she has to say about ATT's overpriced phones and services. You put some fat lady dancing around or popping open a 4% alcohol fizzy koolaid and I am changing the channel as I mentally make a note to NEVER buy your product.

I like this type of thing myself, it de-focuses on the skin pigmentation of the actor. This is the new trend in historical dramas and its a very good thing IMO.

That commercial for "Meta" drives me insane.
