  • Broncos would be 5-1 with Brett Rypien starting

    Just saying,
defense is playing too good to be 2-4 right now.

yea Rypien has a noodle arm and no athletic ability. But at least he knows how to run offense and isn’t low IQ like Wilson. I have no doubt he could lead this team to a better record

is this why we’re calling lame runs up the middle every play during overtime?

if Russ is injured then sit his ass. He’s hurting the team

I think we are losing because of coaching... Russ is fine(average) QB. He is playing like a rookie as Hackett is making him play like Rodgers.

Once we have an experienced coach.. we can win games.

Coach sucks but Russ also had like -20 yards in the second half.

him trying to tough it out with his torn Lat and now I guess hamstring is costing the broncos games. Rypien would have easily won this game

Rypien has worked on his throwing mechanics every single year and has come out with a better arm every single year. He has been smart and tough ever since we got him. If he was the starter? Yeah. I think we'd have a better record and we'd be scoring more points.

He did mess up by extending Wilson before playing a game. Otherwise it's been Wilson ****ing up that got the team 16 points per game. Each of those games had victory ripped from the Broncos kicking ass on D by Wilson ****ing up. Multiple plays in each game that had the rest of the team doing their part and guys getting open but Wilson ignoring the scheme and playing playground ball with Tebow accuracy.

Early extension was a must imo. Otherwise your basically admitting the trade was a failure

Wilson didn't fumble twice inside the 5-yard line at Seattle ... nor did he give up a fumble that was returned 70 yards to lose the Raiders game.

Wilson has sucked, no doubt. But there are other big problems ... like maybe play-calling?

That's not really true about play calling.
Unless one is taking the track that thinks the coaches should force RW3 to play like Carroll made him play... But that would be wrong too because that style requires fast feet and accuracy. He is not accurate enough to run it anymore.

Look at some of my other posts.
                  Look at Kurt Warner's breakdown.
Read what Plummer said about how the system is based off Shanahan and requires the QB to "hit the open guy."
Look up anyone breaking down film looking for hot reads...

All of those people are putting the blame exactly where I have been saying since game 3.
Wilson has fallen over the cliff.

The "fallen over the cliff" narrative doesn't really make sense though. No reason for that big of a drop-off from last season to this season. It's a combination of things I'm sure, but the biggest things are probably trying to play in an offense that doesn't fit him and his limitations and his injuries. He's never going to be remotely as good as he was at his peak, but he's not as bad as he's looked the last couple of weeks. They have to scheme around his limitations.

I've been concerned all along about the dynamic and sometimes worry if Hackett is even empowered to pull the trigger on changes, admitting to the QB's limitations. I got the impression he and Russ spent the whole offseason tailoring the offense to what Russ wanted to do, and he's the guy the organization hitched their wagon to for the foreseeable future. I've said it before, but I find it hard to believe that Hackett is somehow stubbornly imposing his will on Russ. Seems like this is what Wilson wanted to try and transition to and they're failing miserably at it. I don't know how likely it would be for him to admit defeat when he's busy being unlimited, but he's taking the whole team down with him. Someone needs to step up and take charge and fill what appears to be an organizational leadership void.

There are like 30 QBs who the team probably could have gone at least 4-2 with. I used 2021 Teddy as an example of how unremarkable a QB could be and do just enough to win these games. Right now Russ has the ceiling of a top 10 QB but the floor of a lost rookie. It’s stunning

Wilson is playing like crap but Denver fans need to get over the 2nd string QB. Rypien is a statue and would get killed behind this OL.

Rypien sucks and wouldn't be on any good team in NFL. Looking back the smart move would have been traded Lock and 3rd for Love out of GB and see if there was anything there in system that Love knew. At least would still have draft choices and Fant.

Man, that escalated quickly. From SB predictions to ranking Wilson below one of the worst backups in the league in a mere few weeks.

I don’t know that Rypien would be 5-1, but there’s a decent chance Lock would be.

How is Rypien one of the worst back ups in the league? He’s won his only ever start. Not enough info to declare him one of the worst back ups

And the broncos are still winning the Super Bowl this year

1 start, yet 4 INTs and a fumble. I rest my case.

                            Rypien for Super Bowl MVP?

Rypien has made the Broncos 1 time out of camp. No other team picked him up when he has been on waivers. His 1 start was one of the worst QB game that won easily. He was throwing INTs on balls he was trying to throw away. I remember him getting killed at the end of the game trying to do kneel downs and throw the ball out of bounds.

Denver fans love the back QB for some reason that I cannot figure out.

He’s not our future. But I think he’s the perfect game manager type QB. And that’s all we need vs a team like the jets

Yea he threw those picks but it was his first game as an undrafted rookie with no preseason or training camp due to covid. He also led some excellent scoring drives including the game winning drive. He should be more comfortable playing at home in his 3rd season. Just manage the game and no picks. Do that we should win

I think we just all want to see how everyone does with a different QB. How will the o-line respond? What will the body language of the WRs be? What will the formations and play-calling be like. How will they play?

We're all so confused as to how we are 2-4 so we just want any insight as to what the hell is going on.

Rypien threw 3 int’s against the jets in his only start. Let’s hope that he’s progressed from that. Some have mentioned he compares to Siemian, and I think that’s a good comparison. He’s good for a couple of games, but you don’t want him there permanently.

I have no idea what’s wrong with Russ, but they need to sit him until at least after the bye.

If we get a Siemian like performance we are getting a massive upgrade from the 2022 version of Russell Wilson.

Seems like every time a backup QB starts a game, the team wins. The other team has no film to watch, nor know how will be used. I still don't know if we'll win this game, Hackett is still coaching. But if we do we'll hear from some that we need to keep starting him, only to lose the next few games. I expect a lot of things, including improvement. Haven't been getting it for going on 7 years now. Rypien isn't going to change that.
