  • Paton will look to sell by deadline

If he wants to save his job he needs to accept this season as a fail and move on from it. Dump Hackett….

Jeudy is the player to watch now.

he’s going to become a voice in that lockerroom that coaches won’t like.

Every player not named Surtain should be on the trade block.

I like the depth development for a trashed out season. Keep these guys and makes them ball but PLEASE get rid of this offensive staff including the HC.

      Headcase exchange.

Bringing Gordon back was a disastrous decision. If only for the lack of another credible option.

Just ****ing cut Gordon tomorrow and no need to be too classy about it either.

He and Jeudy can cry about it together.

What on earth could Jerry Jeudy be complaining about? Dude, your career has been an abject failure, to date. In your class, the only guy who has been worse than you literally killed someone. Shut your mouth and get better.

I actually don’t understand what happened with Melvin Gordon. Did I miss something? Why start a guy, if you’re going to sit him down for most of the game? What did he do to earn that? He deserved to be benched for the fumbling. But you showed, by starting him, that that was forgiven. What did he do tonight to end up with that slap in the face?

I’d like to hear more about the “grumbling on the sidelines” thing. Those two are two of the MAJOR contributors to what got us in this mess, to begin with.

I believe this happened after the first 3 and out in overtime. It was 3rd and 1 and instead of running the ball they put Russ in the shotgun and the play failed miserably.

This is brutal. Melvin seems like he generally means well but just constantly says or does the wrong thing.

The shotgun-in-short-yardage situations is the Nathaniel Hackett, offense version of Bow Slowik’s soft, CBs-playing-10-yards-off-the-LOS-on-3rd-and-2 defense.

In other words, it’s so indefensibly, illogically ludicrous, we will be talking about it in twenty years. That 3rd-and-1 should be queued up for him whenever the meeting happens when he is fired. (Actually, that okay will be way down the list, which is really saying something.)

Yeah, I’ve never gotten the abject hate for him as a person. I legitimately felt a little bad for him tonight. Something had to have happened on the sideline during the 1st quarter. I just don’t get why they humiliated him that way. Don’t start him at all, if he’s that buried in the doghouse. I didn’t see anything tonight that warranted that - especially against his former team. Just brutal.

Only in this board, Paton is treated as genius.. some posters thought he is better than Elway.

Paton is the reason we are in this mess..

It's bad/inexperienced coaching and leadership. The Bill Belichick's of the world would have quietly unloaded or deactivated Melvin Gordon. No need for the rallying around a player with a pattern of failure. You didn't "do your job." Hackett went the other route. Fine, you rallied around the player. Then ****ing play him and start him. It sends a shitty passive aggressive message to your entire team with starting him and benching him after 2 series.

Jeudy is immature, inconsistent, and has terrible body language all of the time. He had one-on-one opportunities and got minimal separation most of the night (sans one play). At this point, his draft status warrants some value, but I'd seriously explore trading him before the deadline. He's not going to get any better imo.

He shot for the moon....and missed. Still don't want Elway back. Jeudy over Jefferson? Elway's trash and his stink is still on this team.

Elway was aggressive in free agency. We won SB50 because of him.

You are blaming Jeudy.. But, conveniently won't say anything about Hackett and 200+ million he gave to Wilson(including multiple draft picks).

Broncos trade rumors trending on google.

fire sale fully begins. I posted this thread a week ago…..not sure why it took the inevitable jets loss for more to jump on board

“Let’s just go ahead and admit that the Denver Broncos season is over. At 2-5, there is certainly a small chance they could turn things around. The issue is Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett. No reasonable person based on what we’ve seen over the first seven games of the season would be certain Hackett can turn things around. Nothing he has called on the field or done in practice has changed anything offensively.“

Yes, but you're basing this off of a presumption that the FO knows what they're doing. More than likely, they will sit on their hands and keep what they have for another season. Mediocrity breeds complacency.....

They got it right to trade Von. As he was never getting resigned….just like Chubb won’t be resigned.

Allow me to play Devil's Advocate here for a minute. Why would Payton even want to come to Denver when he can go to LAC and continue to develop Herbert? Payton would look at Denver and say, "hmmm, a 33 year old washed up vet who can't scramble, can't or won't throw in the middle of the field and has mentally checked out, sign me up for that!!!" Oh, and they only have 5 draft picks total; none in the first or second round? I can't wait to get started!!! He's not coming to Denver.
