  • Hackett Play calling

    Still not learning..

    --

The Colts were out of timeouts. All the Broncos needed to do was run some plays, let the clock wind down, kick a field goal, and allow the defense to do what it had done most of the game. Instead, Hackett calls for a pass play on 3rd down. Russell Wilson promptly throws an interception in the end zone.

All you need is a field goal, and you put the ball in the air and risk that? With your opponent sitting there without a timeout? With a QB who has been off all night on his throws? Stupidity.

    Basic Football decision.

Not sure when he will learn..

Yes, he’s the same idiot that has been losing games with his incompetence since game 1. The sooner they get rid of him, the better off this team will be.

We could be 4-1 if Fangio is the HC.. The problem is Hackett is not learning.

I’m not sure fangio would have the defense playing as good as it is now

evero is more aggressive with the pass rush

It’s pretty frustrating. As bad as things have been, they’re two horrible coaching decisions away from 4-1. The 64 yard field goal and the pass on 3rd and 4.

64 FG -> you pass as it's difficult
3rd and 4 -> you run and kick the FG

Knowing Hackett, he might have thought ..let me pass as FG didn't work in the first game.

I am hoping that he learns from it quickly.

I get throwing the ball in that spot. It would have sucked to lose that game when the D dominated all day but lose by a point because of one drive. There would have been plenty of time and Colts had 4 downs per set of sticks. Defense was approaching the magic 60 play mark which is where they typically start falling apart. I'd of liked a safe run pass option just to try and get a first down and game over. I didn't like trying a WR who shouldn't be out there to begin with on a good CB. Once he didn't win the inside positon off the line the ball should have never went his way.

99% of the coaches will run the ball on 3rd and 4 in that situation. if we get first down, game is over.
                If not, kick the FG.

I can understand if we are playing against Mahomes, Allen etc. Colts offense couldn't do anything..
If they score TD..they deserve to win.

Either way you are going to have to stop the Colts on 4 downs whether you run or pass there. Time wasn't an issue in either scenario.

Yea why the hell was Tyrie Cleveland in there against Gilmore. Basically our last string receiver vs their best corner

                horrible match up

Sutton had went out with an equipment problem I think. Sutton out, Russ playing terrible and hurt, and they opt to pass, smdh

I read somewhere Sutton was nicked up after the play before. That's why he wasn't on the field and Cleveland was.

There is plenty to roast Hackett for but passing here isn't one of them. You try and win the game with a first down. Maybe consider a time out so you can get your personel set and not throw a pick targeting a guy who should get zero routes run a game.

I’m cool throwing the ball but not to Cleveland

Sutton got pulled out with a groin injury right before that play and I honestly don't think Russ realized Sutton had been pulled out because he was probably concussed and his shoulder was on fire.

He goes there against Gilmore thinking it's Sutton but it turns out to be our 3rd string receiver one on one against one of the top CBs in the league.

If we are talking about that play it was 100 percent RW3 . What needs talked about is how he missed a wide open Hamler and it wasn't over the middle . That is rookie QB stuff. I'm not sure whats going on with Wilson. I'm still pulling for him but to miss a pass like that is inexcusable.

You don’t even want a TD in that scenario. First down, kneel, win the game. Throwing a low % bullet pass into the endzone, to your 4th receiver was the worst possible option. There’s absolutely no arguing that.

Yup sprint right option or something. Just make it a run pass option.

Worse yet, there was a huge hole between the G and RT that Russ could’ve walked through for the first down.

I'd like to see this broke down by downs. I have a feeling the high runs into stacked boxes is on predictable first downs.
