I'm wondering if any of you who have not chosen avatars would be willing to give the reason behind it. I have to admit that even after 20+ years on boards like this, I still rarely find myself associating monikers when I read posts. I get my impression and associate it with your avatars. Your avatar is your online face. So, for all intents and purposes, those of you who don't have an avatar don't really have a face.
Not having a face is distracting and terrible. From a board community perspective, it's really inconvenient, especially for those who have small to medium-sized post counts.
So, the question is, for those of you without avatars, what is your reasoning for it?
And, as a follow up, if the answer is that you just haven't given it much thought. would you be willing to do it now? I think that having avatars really adds to the overall community dynamic of a site. IF you decide that you would like an avatar, but don't really know how to do it, simply ask a moderator for help.
